I am stoping Zoloft and starting Effexor CR

Is there anything that I should expect with the change? Will I experience withdrawals?

Good luck, how high a dose of zoloft are you on and for how long? Are you doing a slow wean or a cold turkey?

I've just done a cold turkey off zoloft but I was on a high dose for a very long time. I'd ask your doctor for some short term meds to ease the withdrawal if it's going to be quick.

What I found was dizziness, muscle aches, stomach upsets, brain tingles and increased anxiety were some of the common things. It all really depends on how the withdrawal is handled though.

My husband changed from Zoloft to Lexapro with no problems. Good luck!

I going to stop Zoloft, and start Effexor. The reason why I am doing it is because I do not feel like Zoloft is working for me anymore.

Sometimes Zoloft does stop or does not work for some peeps..Have heard great things about the Effexor CR

Jay - I wish you all the luck in the world with your drugs change. I switched to Effexor this time last year after an antidepressant stopped working. The Effexor is working well for me.... gave me back my sleep.... wonderful.
