Paxil & Ativan

I dont know about the meds but I am sure someone will be by shortly to help ya out.

I don't take Paxil, but I take a SSRI called Lexapro.

I also take Ativan. I take it twice a day, equalling up to 1 mg. You shouldn't have a "hangover" feeling as I don't experience that at all.

Are you drinking alcohol? I felt extremely drowsy the next day if I even had one drink the night before with the Ativan. Now I don't drink any alcohol because I hate the reaction to it the next day.

Maybe the Paxil is just now kicking in for you, and you're feeling drowsy from that? If so, do you take it at night or in the morning?

If you're taking it in the morning, maybe you should switch to taking it just before bed so you don't feel so drowsy the next day.

I'm new here but have been lurking for a week or so.
Saw your post and thought I'd share my little experience with Lorazepam, Ativan.
Last year I had a panic attack and was given a couple Lorazepam 1mg in the ER- told tp take one when I needed it. I did need it one night and it wiped me out for a good 24 hours--I was tired all day and could barely function, didn't like it, I have a family to keep up with! I told my doc and the first thing she said was-you don't drink do you? I've never drank, she told me that my body wasn't used to the drug's effects in the same way as my body has never had to deal with the effects of alcohol and suggested I take half and half worked for me .
Fast forward to two weeks ago--I had only just been subcribed to Paxil (10mg at bedtime) for anxiety and panic for one week when I have a wicked and long anxiety attack session in the evening and was given 1mg Ativan under my tongue, in the ER. I was fine at first but it kicked me in the butt the next day and lived with what I can only call residue feeling of fatigue, and as you said lethargy, the rest of the week. I also had left over anxiety and tired limbs from the anxiety attack so I was wiped. Didn't realise that ativan was lorazepam or I would have asked for half.
Any hoo, after that week my doc put me on 20mg paxil (at bedtime) and I keep ativan around in case of another attack. If I do need to take one I will try to half one of those tiny little pills. I'm hoping the paxil will waylay the P/As and won't have to discover what happens if I need to take ativan again.
Initially the Paxil at bedtime made it difficult to stay asleep and tired during the day but it is starting to even out after a month--seems like coming back to normal except for this nagging feeling of "go lay down" that comes over me when I have a minute when I'm not busy.
