When I was very anxious I would get a cold rush  confused feeling over the top of my head.  Has anyone had this happen to them before? 

I started taking Celexa and this helped with this cold feeling, but just the other day I experienced it again when I became very anxious?  Thank you for your response.   Mrs C.

Absolutely.  I have had this numerous times.

It doesn't generally happen if the anxiety comes on slowly - but it happens almost every time it comes on quickly.

So it was interesting that, when I started on Effexor (low dosage), one of my side effects for a few days was the feeling that my brain was "cold".  That's the only way I can describe it.

How long does this cold feeling last for you?  Mine can go all day, on and off?

It depends.  Sometimes it's only a few minutes, other times it's longer. Generally it's only as long as my anxiety lasts (or shorter).  Typically that would be a couple of hours max.  But if I was having anxiety numerous times a day (which is rare for me, as I usually get it in the evening, and then when it goes away I go to bed), I suppose it could go on and off all day.

Are you getting it even when you don't feel anxious anymore?

I too will get this occasionally when very anxious and stressed to the max ....you know that rubber band feeling
I believe this has been talked about before I will look up the old thread later okay

I've had it last for days before, generally because my thinking about it would not let it go away. It does go away however. I hope you feel better soon!

I don't know if this is the same, but I get little cold sensations at different locations on my body, it feels like there is someone injecting ice cold water into my veins, it only lasts for a few seconds, but the cold flushes, I have had them before when I started Prozac, they lasted for a few weeks, then went away.  They were like hot flashes, but cold.  I get weird bug crawling sensations also.

I've never had the sensation when I wasn't experiencing anxiety, but I definitely think it would be possible.  Anxiety does so many strange things to our bodies - during and after the height of the anxiety.  I do have other physiologial symptoms that start during an anxiety attack and can continue even after it's over, so it does make a lot of sense.
