Hi Hope all are doing well,

Some might remember I am on 50mgs of Zoloft for anxiety, tonight I up the dose to 75mgs, please tell me I won't have the horrible anxiety side effects again or If I do they won't last so long. I am supposed to go up to 100mgs in 2 weeks and I'm really afraid of the side effects.

Is 2 weeks on 75mgs long enough before I go up to 100mgs? I do have Klonopin to help me out. Also is anyone taking just an anti-d that controls their A/P, without having to take a benzo as well? Any info would help and Thank-You in advance.

I take 50mg of Zoloft a day (at night) and have been for 4yrs now.  I have no side effects so can't really help you.  I don't know what a benzo is???  I do have Xanax but only use it in full blown panic attacks.  Might take 3 a month?? I usually cut the Xanax in half so really only taking 1 1/2 pills a month.  I hope you don't have any problems and that you feel better soon.

i was on 200mg of Zoloft for 12 years or so. It worked well for me. I don't recall any side effects, BUT my anxiety was sooooooooooo extreme, I probably wouldn't have known it was "aggravating" the anxiety at the first. I was also on 6mg of Xanax a day back then!!!! Hopefully, you'll smooth out and it won't be quite so bad. Keep us posted!

Benzos are meds such as Xanax, Klonipin, and Ativan. smile

Thanks for the support Libby and Janet. I hope Zoloft works as well for me and I can go down on the Klonopin. I guess I am afraid of anti-ds because I've never taken any, and I just don't see how they can help anxiety, obviously they do, because most here have been helped with them.

Janet I hear you, years ago my anxiety was so extreme, the doc's tried me on every anti phsycotic and  tranqualizer known to man, maybe they should have tried an anti-d all those years ago. I'm sure I would never have noticed a side effect back then anyways. I think maybe when I started Zoloft, the doctor should have started me on 25 mgs instead of 50mgs, maybe I wouldn't have felt so lousy, I don't have any side effects on the 50 now, so maybe I won't feel so bad on the 75mgs. Anyways I'm starting to ramble, I do that allot, sorry. Have a great night.

Hey no big ugly side effects, I am on day 5 of 75mgs of Zoloft. I sure am glad I didn't get more side effects, I won't be so afraid to go up to the 100 mgs now. I do notice a wee difference, like I am sleeping better, and when I do get ancious, it's not as bad as it was, so I'm hoping 100mgs will be as high as I have to go. I do belive anti-d's will work for me. Have a great day to all.

All I can say is ((((HUGS)))). I've never been on Zoloft. Mt thoughts and prayers are with you as you struggle through this.

Hi Shebig

(((Hugs))) hun. I know how hard this can be on one's self but your not alone here. I am currently on Fluoxetine 20 mg in the mornings, Oxazepam 15 mg 3 x a day and Trazadone 50 mg at night for sleep. All of these are suppose to be to help my fibro, anxiety and depression. I can tell thay have done some good but I haven't been on them but a few months and they already changed up my Oxazepam. So hang in there youare in my prayers.

Thank-you Chelle & MsKittie for the hugs and prayers. I sure will hang in there MsKittie, I feel so much more positive about taking medication thanks to everyone here. I'm not afraid to take it anymore and I'm not going to worry about whether I will get side effects or not. I feel a real sence of relief, that medication will help me soon and I'll have a normal life. That is something big to look forward to.
