Muscle Tension & SSRI's

Hi hope all is going well for everyone. This is probably a dumb question, but here goes. Can ssri's help muscle tension??? I find my neck and shoulders feel less tense lately. Unless this is my imagination it has to be the Zolft. Thank-you in advance.

I dont know much if anything about meds but... if I had to have it a guess it could be that your muscle tension was stress induced. This would lead me to believe the SSRI helps you relax thus helping with the tension too. Just a guess but I am sure others will be by with input.

if you can find an antidepressant that works for you, it should

Yes my ssri's do release some of my muscle stress but not all of it. I usually will soak in a very hot bathtub to help relax them more. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys this does help, I have a c6 heriated disc that gives me allot of trouble, of course stress doesn't help it any. Lately it hasn't bothered me much, good thing to, as I am in the middle of making the decision to have my neck fused. But if it doesn't bother me much I won't bother. I learn something new everyday here, and it's such a comfort.
