I have had pressure in my forehead for over a week I am really scared.But that is my only symtom Do you think it is a brain tumor?I have been to the doctor and she gave me a antibiotic but was not really sure if it was needed.I am making myself sich please help.

If your doc prescribed something I would be leaning tward whatever they told you if you are concerned with it being wrong tell the doc that or get a second opinion.

You probably have a sinus infection.  If she thought it was something else, she would have sent you for further tests.  I know it's hard.  I have anxiety too every little symptom I "worse case scenerio it."  I have a tinnitus in my ear for a couple of weeks and got on the internet and have diagnosed myself with all types of scary things.  Just have to relax and forget about it.  (Easy for me to say).  Happy Holidays.

Thank you so much,I know I sound silly but things really upset me especially if a symtom lasts awhile. I did internet search and that is what scared me but thanks for your replies and happy holidays

I'm pretty new here, so I hope I'm not speaking out of turn when I say this. Please use caution when using the internet to search for symptoms, a diagnosis, etc. I know it's hard to do (I know because I do it too) but there's so much erroneous, outdated, and darn right misleading information out there. From what I've seen on this site, there is a wealth of accurate information and helpful individuals that are happy to help out any way they can.

Never be afraid to ask lots questions when you visit the doc...that way you come out of there with a clear understanding of what the prob is and what meds you are gonna take etc.
Looking up symptoms on the net can be way scarey and something to avoid when we are a little down..because for some reason we only pick up on the bad things..and our brain starts working at a hundred miles an hour..and pretty soon we have every kind of disease you can imagine lol...as you have probably realised!

STAY AWAY FROM THE INTERNET PLEASE!!! I have gotten on WebMd and thought I had optic neuritis and MS, epiglot*** that shuts of your airway, ischematic strokes that lead to a major stroke, unexplained sudden death, throat cancer, etc. etc. I have avoided searching symptoms on the internet since there can be a million causes of a headache. I just wait out symptoms and usually they go away. I have gotten online, self diagnosed myself, and started talking about dying and throwing myself in a panic state for a week.

No I do not believe it is a brain tumor
For one * you would not be on internet and here*
2 * you would not be able to move head and neck *
I speak from having a hubby who DID have a brain tumor and went comatose on me operated on and was a "Medical miracle" in the early 70's and he had gone to 70 lbs .........
He came outta that fine only to die in a car accident drinking and driving involved yrs later
What a waste of a beautiful man and Father
Please stay away from internet your symptoms will " always Match up so to speak "

BTW..............it is most likely a sinus thing or something akin that is bldg pressure in your head so please do take meds ......

I had pressure in my head awhile ago, and I believe it was due to anxiety.  I have had a brain MRI and cat scans and been to three neurologists(I was very very dizzy for a long time as well)  They never found anything.  I think anxiety can do terrible things to our bodies and cause terrible symptoms. The feeling of pressure on my head was one of the worst.  It does sound crazy to people who don't have anxiety, but once you've been there you understand!!
