Got into the "Spirit " finally
Got tree and decorating tonight
Handling the stuff all over quite well for the OCD I have lol
Had a no problem day shopping yesterday actually quite proud of self for no anxiety nor panic

Me too not flipping about a few utensils in sink lol nor the bread ties I have them all over WHY cant they put them back on

Socks lol I love it
I have a visual of your socks it is quite hilarious
At least we know you wont go w/o and have cold feet EH

That's funny that you mentioned about wearing certain clothes- I can vividly remember what I was wearing the day my panic attacks started at work and my boss saying "Why such a long face?" I haven't been able to wear that outfit since (and that was 10 years ago- time to get rid of it I guess! :-) ) Also, I can't eat orange sherbet because that's all I ate when my panic attacks started (just to get some calories in me).

As others have posted, it amazes me when I realize all of a sudden that I haven't thought about the A/P for at least ten minutes!! I find that doing suduko puzzles keeps my mind well occupied when I need a diversion...

I do cleaning and come on here try to support ppl and then I find my A/P is not being thought of as much as it would be if i were doing nothing at all

Cleaning ,cooking and being here on HW teens night and food bank keeps me busy and keeps mind off alot of crappy thinking and worrying
Looking after Dad as well

When you can be out and about and not worry about ppl or what they might be " saying bout me "
Being able to calmly make my points with family FINALLY
Being told liver may be affected now so............................ at least I didnt freak

When you can actually walk yourself through something as simple as driving to work and tell yourself "it will be ok, I'll be somewhere soon"

When you can go shopping on your own, even at a smaller store and don't feel like you have to leave immediately (did it today without anyone there with me)

When you can tell others about your anxiety issues and not feel ashamed

When you can stand in line somewhere and not feel like you are about to die or pass out

BIG ONE FOR ME: When you can go out to lunch with co-workers and not feel trapped or uneasy (did it a few times)

 I know I am beating this thing like it use to beat me to a point

I really did leave my house last night for a 30 minute( each way ) travel and shopping and eating in food court

 

Never did I leave home w/o the ativan or diazapam and if I did Howie Or I would turn back round and get it...........said to self and out loud to lil one ( michelle n cait n Kelsey ) I was gonna be okay I could do it

AND  I managed just great we shopped and we were in a mall not busy though and ate in as well ........

 

Have to say it helps to have an A/p "Buddy" with you ...........

If you get the chance to meet up  and find your friendship out of hw as well go for it

I really do think it works we laughed and watched a movie and just yakked all us gals last night

MY ocd even behaved

   NOW ...whats up with that

When you drive all the way from buffalo NY, 2 days after flying there, to nowheresville Canada to meet someone survive border control and then shortly after drive 30 min away where you've also never been to a mall and stay in there for a while and drive 30 min back. No meds and no major problems.

When 3 months ago I couldn't have even imagined stepping foot into a mall and I went into a mall for an hour a week ago.

I had a 20 minute long panic attack but then it subsided.

hehe

I now know also that even IF I have taken 1 mg of Ativan, I can have a full blown panic attack on it when trying to do exposure therapy. Should I have my dosage upped? Or keep trying to go to the mall on the 1 mg and try to get less panicky?

I had the same problem with Target. .. (taking 1 mg of ativan).. I could hardly walk when I was in there for a while..and now I can walk through Target easily... without much anxiety.

Just dropped in from Chronic pain forum because my pain meds caused panic attacks for awhile. I don't know why but I find you people hold a special place in my heart. While your fears are sometimes great you never stop overcoming and I find that kind of bravery very appealing. I had a women walk off and leave me with two babies in diapers and I raised them by myself. I was in the Army during the Vietnam era and I spent days at 2000 feet throwing machine gun bullets but when those panic attacks hit I don't ever remember being that scared. What I am trying to say is you people have had quite a mountain to climb and you do it. Please see what I see in you. You people have greater inner strength than anyone I have ever seen. Yes sometimes it takes a friend to get you to reach down and find that strength but always know its YOU who over came it. I hope this came out right. God Bless

When you leave home, forget to take your anxiety meds, but keep driving and go shopping for awhile without having a P/A, and enjoy yourself as well.

Rock...Thanks for stopping by and giving us the vote of confidence. 

Great work Twiggy and She and others I might have missed.

Twiggy perhaps instead of upping the med consider lowering the exposure slightly... like go for shorter bursts or stop more often or go outside to compose and work up slightly slower.  I know the more exposure I JUMP into the more likely the probablity of anxiety or panic.

with all you have dealt with in your life sounds like you could use some support as well
I have chronic pain and on may meds for chrohns PG and other illnesses as well so I do know what that is like as well
Am from the same era from whence you hail .......

When you see the young man that Threatened your daughter at school with a gun and only tell him not to do it again and /or you will _____ him ........

Have OPP call me about this incident and not freak out

Going back and forth to hospital with Lil one helping me all the way ( she is phobic about docs and such) yet here she is there for me
What a wonderful young woman she is and I am proud of her accomplishments too

When you go to Canada from the states and spend 9 days with someone and overcome all the anxiety that flies your way without thinking twice about it...

When you get to the airport early...clear security...Get to your gate and find out your flight is delayed...and now you have to be in the airport probably atleast 50 more min but you arent any more anxious than the fact you hate flying...

When I let myself kick into overdrive and let the OCD be useful instead of a noose around neck
When I dont take as many benzo's as I use to I try working thru it more and getting good results but I have not stopped totally
