Is anyone on the drug lexapro, I would love to hear what you have to say?

its a fairly new prozac type and if it works for you, will help a lot

everyone reacts differently so other peoples experiences arent a useful guide, unless they are from your family perhaps

start with about 5 and slowly work the dose up, depending on how you react, some early side effects can be expected

lexapro works for me....it helps for depression as well as any aniety. I noticed that it started working fairly quickly...I was able to sleep better. Hope this helps...

  I myself like it and it's been working out really well for me I did have one side affect to it at frist and that was not being able to sleep for a few days but all's good now

My hubby and son were given it at different times and both had very bad side affects. They said it felt like rage was building in their chest if that makes since. Anyhow my sister takes it ans it works great for her. My son takes zoloft and it works for him not her. It depends on the body chemicals. Chil

I'm on Lexapro.

Lyn- Lexapro is like Prozac only because it comes from the same kind of drugs.. which are SSRI's.. it doesn't necessarily make them alike, but they are both SSRI's.

I take 20 mgs a day, I like the med... suits me well... curves those anxious thoughts...

tonight I travelled pretty dang far from my house.. I think I'll give credit to not only the Lexapro and Ativan/Lorazepam.. but willpower.

I forced myself to go.. I didn't even want to go and kept going inside my house while the car was running and was freaking out... not wanting to go.. but forced myself to go and am actually having fun.

hehe

Lexapro is a great med for me personally... but is not right for everyone.

Giving it a shot wouldn't hurt.  :)

Hi Jaymay,

I have been on Lexapro for almost 2 years now. I have had dosage adjustments several times, but it seems to be the best antidepressant for me. I have tried zoloft, effexor, and wellbutrin, and the Lexapro worked best for me with the least side effects, but as Twiggygal said, it's not right for everyone. The main side effect for me is that it makes me sleepy, so I take it at night. Good luck with it! :)
