so upset!

ok as i sit here i have tears coming down the side of my face i am sooooooooo upset. As some of you know i lost my mom due to suicide in 98,,, i was 18.. anyhoo.. my dad had promised me her wedding rings for my wedding day (over 4 yrs ago),,, i never got them,, when i approached him about them he had made the decision himself that my daughter should get them not me and he should be the one to give it to her.. I explained to him that i felt that i should have them and be able to pass them down when i go.. nevermind the fact that he left my mother a month before she took her own life after 20 yrs of marriage.. anyhoo... my dad and i really werent on speaking terms.. actually last boxing day (2005) he called and we got into it and he told me not to go to his funeral when he died.. well i went to my brothers house (8hrs away) over the holidays.. my dad was there and to my surprise he gave me my moms rings.. i was so ecstatic! I have been wearing them on a chain around my neck.. well i took it off the other day and put it on my dresser. I went to go and get it today and its gone! I have a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old and both say that they didnt touch it.. even tho i am pretty sure one of them did. I am so upset i know that i shouldnt have left them on my dresser.. i dont know what i am gonna do if i cant find them! I can see that i am not gonna be able to sleep tonight and my A/P is gonna get the best of me.. ok sorry just wanted to vent and get that out.. thanks for reading..  

  I know how hard this must be for you, but you might try playing a game with kids who can find the rings gets a dollar or 2 and I bet one of them will find them for you then sit them down and  tell them how just how much those rings mean to you and they souldn't be playing wih them.

thanks alot for the replies... my kids went to bed a t 8 so kept going to ask them if they knew where it was... but they said no.. i was too tired to search the whole house last night so i went to bed early.. well i got up this morning with the kids..i asked my kids again if they had touched mommys necklace with the rings.. my 4 yr old son says.. its broken,, i said where... he pulss the necklace and wedding rings outta his pocket... what a relief!!!!!!! now they are on my fingers where they will stay until i can figure something else out and get a new necklace since it is now broken. Thanks for the replies.. and for letting me vent last night!

So happy You got them back...Kids are like that when things break. Glad you have them safe and sound tho.
