Barbara,
My anxiety is EXACTLY the same as yours!! I'm a mess in the a.m., but by supper time everything has calmed down and I feel normal. I'm only getting 4 or 5 hours of relief every day. It's driving me crazy too! As you can see from my signature lines I have a lot of crap going on. We're (me and the docs) aren't sure where the anxiety is stemming from either. Lupus is brutal if it gets in the brain or spinal cord, so I might have some central nervous system lupus going on or my seizure disorder that is causing the anxiety.
I was on Paxil for 5 years (2000 - 2005). It took me 2 years to taper off of only 30mg! It's VERY addictive stuff. I had to come off of it because it was causing really bad side effects. It did squat for the depression and actually made it worse. So I came off of it and for about a year I was fantastic. No anxiety, no depression. Now the anxiety is back and I don't know why!
So I understand your frustration for sure. I'm on Frisium (Clobazam) for my seizures. It's an AD but a mild one. I'm also on a tricylic acid called Amitriptyline. Again, low dose for my fibromyalgia pain. So neither AD's are used to treat depression. I just don't have depression! But I will if this anxiety keeps up for much longer!
Good luck in your search for a reason and a treatment Barbara.
God bless,
Ginny
