My Drug Update....

Just thought I'd let ya know that I went to the pdoc today and told him how I'm better in some ways, but still not as good as I think I could/should be. We discussed whether to change to Effexor or Lexapro, but he said that although thhose are definite options for me, he'd prefer I try to stay on Paxil CR but go up to 75mg from 50mg. I was suprised since I'd read that 50mg was the max dose for the treatment of GAD (although not the max for depression). He said that some other meds, such as Prozac, used to have similar limits but were later increased by the drug companies. So I figured that he should know. Tonight I take my first dose at 75mg. I hope it does the trick! I see him in another month. He felt that if I switched to another AD, I'd be basically starting all over and if the Paxil worked at a bigger dose, it wouldn't take as long to get at a better place, so to speak.
