Hi Dave,

I live in Orange County, California, not Sacramento. I thought that you said that your BIL lives in Sacramento. I am a good ways (several hours) from Sacramento. I live about 100 miles from Los Angeles and about 50 miles from San Diego County. Do they live in Sacramento?  Maybe I could relocate if they know of any resources. 

How is your anxiety coming along?  You have been a big help to the anxiety forum.

Thank you, Maree. I just got called in for a 2 1/2 day assignment starting today. This is the same one that I was supposed to start on Monday but they gave it away. The only thing that worries me is that the girl who started on Monday has already ran away. Oh well, this is a straight temp assignment and by next week I'll have a small paycheck that will put gas in the car.

Oh, but of course, it's not a "sure thing." She told me this and then I did my due dilligence and called to "confirm" and she said she is waiting for the client to call back, they might not need someone to finish the week afterall. Ugghh! Somebody shoot me, please!

Have been reading your posts and am praying for you!! Don't know what it is with these temp agencies- by husband has been running into the same thing- was told there was a one month assignment, but they didn't have the start date yet- he has called the agency several times and the woman has not returned his calls (the temp job is in a hospital where he previously did 3 months of temp work and they really liked him, so he cannot figure out what is going on). He so had his hopes up-at least a steady paycheck for 4 weeks, only to get knocked down again...

I know you must be tired of hearing that something good will come along (as tired as I am!! ), but it HAS to!! Sounds like you have so much to offer and an employer will realize that!! Hang in there!!

a.l. where do you and hubby live? I live in Southern California and something weird is going on with the job market. The "temp" thing has changed dramatically. The offices compete with each other. They don't refer to a database to find the most qualified candidates. Out of sight out of mind. I hope that your hubby gets that call to go back to an assignment that he likes. Work can be therapeutic and men especially need their work. He is probably mildly depressed. I KNOW that you are going to be fine. The job search sucks to put it bluntly. It is all work and no pay! Hang in there and I can't wait to hear about the good things to come.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I hope that I something positive to report soon too. My body isn't holding up and I'm concerned. What am I going to do without a body to do it with?

Hopeful- I live in PA and you are so right about the temp jobs!! My husband suspects that another agency got the contract for this job with the hospital and that is why his agency is not calling him back. It stinks!! At one point we thought he could do really well with temp work and he even thought about strictly doing that- the money was good and it would give him an opportunity to be in different places.  But it definitely has changed!!

Did you get the temp job that you posted about yesterday??

I know what you mean about your body not holding up- its a vicious cycle- the mental state affects the physical and the physical affects you mentally. Let's hope we both have some good news really, really, really soon!!

THanks, Dave.  Thank you so much for your concern.  I'll look over your emails on the weekend.  I started a TEMP job today, the company wants to talk to me about another position and I got a call from the company that interviewed me last Friday saying that are interested but have to do all of the due dilligence and then a friends friend called me today about a job.  Whew!  I'm still so unhappy though b/c I don't know if my body will allow me to work.  Seriously, I am in soooooo much pain.  I just want to die.  I don't know how I am going to work, find a place to live, pack and move.  I can't take this anymore.

  Well I'm glad that you might have found some but do check out the Human Resources on help with housing and maybe some other help with your rent or gov. jobs

Hi Smorzik, thank you for taking the time to respond to me. Their is a lot of truth and wisdom in your words. You are an "overcomer" a "survivor" and now you are willing to share your journey with others. I commend you for that.

I am happy to tell you that I decided that I will not even mutter the words or think the thoughts of ending my life. I know that I have to go on and I am looking to God to find out what His plan for me is. Perhaps, part of my grief and deep depression is that the things that I wanted...marriage, children, "real love," financial security, self-esteem, to be appreciated for my contribution to this world, to feel "peace" in my heart and in my soul, I have not found. Events took place and I became depressed, I had a breakdown. I grieved the dissillusionment of all of these things and I lost hope for my future. On top of that, everything that could go wrong kept going wrong. I became exhausted, depressed and extremely anxious (fearful). I am tired of being sick (my body) and tired (my mind) and empty (my soul).

You are absolutely right. It is not going to be easy but I have to create a whole new existence for myself and new hopes and dreams to go with it. I know that I want to so I will.

Thank you for your advice. I need to get out for that long walk no matter how bad I feel and I need to nourish my body. Those are 2 things that I CAN do. Also, trusting God no matter what.

Hi everyone,

I've been gone for a while but you have been in my prayers. I was hospitalized on Saturday. Just got home today. I'm tired and will write more later. Basically, I moved in with Mom 2 weeks ago but I started to isolate immediately. Mom doesn't want me here and it brought back a lot of childhood memories on top of everything else.

I was put on a new med called "Remeron." Does anybody take this? If so, what has your experience been with it?

Have no inpt on the meds Kelly I am sure someone will though
I am sure it was not easy but sometimes you have to put things asid and count on Him or whatever your beliefs are to get you thru all of this

I filed for long-term social security disability, however, I'm still hopeful that I can work.  The system is not a place to get lost in.  At this time, I do not qualify for any aide b/c I am without minor children, an immigrant or over 55.  It's sad to discover this as I have contributed to SSI since 1980.  I have never "not worked" since I was 16yrs. of age yet their is no assistance available to me.  Tomorrow, I will apply for food stamps.
