hi, docs just started me on olanzapine just wondered if any one has tryed this and did it help?thanks.

This is am antipsychotic med and has had some good reports done on it
Used for manic depression as well as numerous other disorders
I hae not taken it but am sure someone will post and give their input

Hi waylat, I took this med for about a week in hospital. It is an antipsychotic and commonly used in mental illness. I was prescribed it short term along with my antidepressants as I had severe anxiety and a small dose of olanzapine can help with really bad anxiety. As I say, I only toom it for a week for my anxiety but I do hear a lot of good reports about it and it does help a lot of people. High doses can increase your appetite slightly. Take care

someone very close to me is on olanzapine,ican say without a shadow of a doubt that it has given him a better quality of life since taking this medication regularly.
