Flushed hot-feeling face?

Anyone else feel like their face gets really hot when anxiety is high??  I've probably researched this before, but its been a while and cant remember what I found!  I know I used to worry that it was my blood pressure skyricketing....

Husband's dad (88 yrs old) is in intensive care (heart problems) and they dont expect him to make it.  We havent gotten along for years, but I'm worrying about my husband.  Five minutes after the call came my face got hot and indigestion/acid reflux kicked in.  That was nearly 4 hrs ago and my face is still hot.

Sure do hate this disorder!

  Ya Karen I tend to get the samething when my anxiety gets high like that, even though my blood pressure is fine and when I get those hot flash's and indigestion I know that I'm going to have big P/A God I really hate this Anxiety crap.

  Sorry to here about your Husband's Father, I know that I'm going to be facing the samething here real soon with my Dad from his kedney shuting down from his diabetes.

Thanks Dave. Hey - at least I avoided the panic attack! Now just to get rid of the tense jitters. Hopefull sleep will help.

Yeah, I get that flushed, hot feeling as well. In and of itself I don't think it's anything to worry about. It's hard to find information on this, but I have found that when I start to have a panic attack my actual body temperature can fluctuate in either direction. At first that freaked me out because I was sure I had the flu or something, but I never did. As time went on I found that's normal for me.

And I do seem to get more panic attacks when I don't get enough sleep, too, and I bet that's common.

The only info I found was related to menopause! Feeling much better today. Hubby is really stressing though. Thank both of you for your replies - it really does help!

Karen hoping you are settling down to and hubby is starting to calm as well I know I will sometimes feel my face is flushed when a/p is high '

Thanks Lyn. I'm doing better. Hubby is on his way south to visit his dad (driving - couldnt talk him into flying). My eldest went with him. His dad is not doing well - kidneys not functioning properly and they dont know why.

Now to just get thru worrying about the long drive (14 hours each way) combined with his state of mind and his tendency to drive fast! So far so good tho...

Hi Karen

Panic and anxiety are kinda hot and bothersome at the best of times..sheesh I hate it too!..Sometimes when I have had bad news for example I get this hot flush that goes right through my body from head to toe..it's kind of a warning system that if I don't start concentrating on my breathing etc. a P/A is on its way grrr...lol.

Whatever will be will be Karen...relax - your hubby will feel better in himself whatever the outcome because he will be there to see for himself what is happening with his Dad..rather than hearing it secondhand.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks much everyone!!

Hubby got to Atlanta yesterday eve (no mishaps!). He doesnt think his dad will recover from this episode. Half the time he doesnt seem to know exactly who it is with him. I know hubby feels better for having gone.

Just the trip home to get thru tomorrow now. Supposed to have bad weather here in the afternoon - darn.

Hubby is back. The storm chased him all the way up from Virginia. His dad is not good tho. Its just a matter of time now.

Hi there, yes i too suffer from hot flush face, it feels like it is stinging me also into my ears. I dont like that feeling. i assume its something to do with hormones, or then i scare my self thinking it is high blood pressure that will be leading into a stroke or something crazy like that. any way it usually goes away in a few hours or so. Hope you all feel good. GOD BLESS
