Good morning everyone, hope the weekend was good.
I would like to try to answer everyone's questions, based on my own experiences.
To begin with, I have been playing with this for one year now.
This could have been resolved sooner, but was continuously told that I had an anxiety disorder, that attempts were made to treat this, instead of the root of the anxiety, which ended up being an inner ear (eustachian tube blockage) disorder. I have noticed that now that I know what the problem is, my anxiety level has gone down significantly - as now I am not worried sick everytime when my head feels funny, or my eye, or my neck aches, etc. etc.
I was a person who was always very busy and active, snow mobiling, motor boating, motorcycling, with friends, etc...but during the last year, all of the above diminished. Just wanted to be by myself, left alone, and I have never watched so much TV in my life. The reason being, is that I never knew when my head would be feeling funny, so just the idea of going somewhere, or doing something made me anxious, out of fear that I would be light headed, foggy, etc.
I am at the stage now, where it has been pretty much determined that I have blocked eustachian tubes - and notice that if I hold my nose, close my mouth and blow - my ears pop, stuff runs down my throat, but my head feels better, even clear, after I do this. I am taking Reactine Allergy and Sinus, which seems to be helping too. But will not know what is bothering me until I see the Doctor again tomorow to determine if it is due to sinuses or allergies - but - I have been riddled with sinus problems for many many years.
Wannabbetter - bright lights, more so flourescent lighting - drives me crazy. It tends to make my one eye fog up - and will bring on the head fog/light headiness thing - so I try to stay out of malls or places where there are bright lights. I make sure that I have sunglasses with me all the time, to help with bright light - even a bright sunny day will get my eye going foggy, etc. So, again there is yet one more symptom (and there are many) that you and I have in common. If I were a betting man, I would bet that you do have an inner ear thing going on.
1ofhissheep - good morning, and thanks for your post. Yes - the eye thing - crazy, and all of the descriptures that we have mentioned all happen. In fact if I recall correctly, it was my eye then went first, then the head fog thing kicked in afterwards, then the anxiety, etc. etc. etc. I agree too that it is likely sinus related.
greydays - good morning to you too, and thanks for the post. It almost seems that your doc has indentified that you might have an inner ear thing going on, and then kinda brushed you off. You mentioned spinning feeling. See I don't get the spins, just the off balanced - dizzy - head fog thing. By telling you to do some head movements makes me think that your doctor is suspecting BPPV - which is associated with vertigo (spinning feeling), and head movement exersises are usually given to relieve symptoms. When you have BPPV, tiny little crystals in your ears end up relocating in your ear(s) where they should not be, causing symptoms of spinning, etc, and by doing head movements, causes these crystals to be moved to an area that does not cause you symtpoms - does this sound even remotely close to what you were told.
Any how everyone, have a great day, and of course am looking forward to your posts.
Gary...
