The doctor appointment went GREAT! Before wasn't great though. All day today I had panic attacks and crying fits up until the appointment itself. On the way there, I read a book, and did OK. In the waiting room, I had to fill out papers, and so that kept my mind going, and I was O.K.
After while the doctor came and got me. I felt a little nervous, but did some deep breathing, and remained O.K. I had to sit in the exam room for about 10 minutes beofre the nurse came in, but it wasn't too bad. The nurse came in and I started balling and crying my eyes out! We talked and he helped calm me down. He did my blood pressure which was at the time 156/108. That isn't a good number at all, but we blamed the anxiety.
The doctor came in and we talked, and he redid my blood pressure. Went down to like 140/90. So, that was looking better and he was happier with that number, as was I. I am generally 120/80 without question, but I generally am not dealing with anxiety the way I have been, ya know?
So, he said we wanted to run some blood work to check my electrolytes and thyroid and such. And he gave me a one month supply of Lexapro. He gave me pamphlets on the drug, and I am going to look it up as well, but if anyone has any experience with this drug, please tell me about it.
So, then he told me to do the blood work when my insurance kicks in (July) and after we get the results for that, we will meet again.
Mind you, this doctor is taking care of my sick mother, so he knows the stresses I am dealing with, and he cares for my father too. I feel comfortable with that, cuz he know my medical history, ya know?
SO, that was the appointment. I worried for NOTHING!!!
Time to dance...
Love to you all, and thanks for all of you who helped me through the hard time of waiting for the appointment!!
