Got another wildfire on it's way here again, there already evacuating some places around here and said to be moving fast and is up to 9000 acres from 4000's yesterday. Smoke is all around us right now with light ash is falling and on the drive home the sun was blood red from it and if it keeps going like this it could hit us in a few days if not stopped soon.

We got a lot of dead beetle killed trees around here and are just right for a major wildfire, just a few years ago we had one stopped within a few miles from us and if you got on high ground you could see the fire line coming.

It so hot right now (high 70's to 80's) a little hot for us here in Alaska and to think this fire was started by someone griding the edge of a shove and started the fire from the sparks. But I'm not going to worry about it till I see the evacuation sighs again on the roadway as we have only one road in and out but they never did evacuated us Thank God and put it out in time.

Please pray for rain as we really need it right now thanks

Dear Cowboy,

I worry about you up there in the middle of that fire situation. I, of course, will pray for rain. I would even do a rain dance if I knew one.

I am so sorry this is happening and I cannot imagine the devestation the fire is causing.

I am always worrying about you and you know I will be praying I have to go to docs again for me and Dad has to have some tests done BUT I will be going out to the REZ today to my Healer and Elders and I will make sure that we all pray for you

No that was a fire that was started by a friend of my wife and burned 68 acres
This one is a new one and now is up to 20,000 acres. This whole area is in the hot zone for fires with all the dead trees we have here

I pray you'll be ok, we also live in a major fire area and was put on notice to evacuate just before Xmas. What was meant to be a 95% risk of wiping our whole suburb turned about in a sudden wind change and no homes were destroyed. I hop something like that will come your way.

I'm also in AK with the fires engulfing thousands of acres to the north and south of us.  It is insane!  I woke up this morning and the sky was brown with smoke.  I feel bad for the asthmatic Alaskans!

I am sure glad that Lyn will do the rain dance.............I am French and a wee bit Norwegian so all I can do is pray that the fire is soon under control and does not harm you in any way.

I know how important the conservation of your forests means to all of you.

The fire is still out of control, we got more rain today but the fire is to hot and there not telling us much right now. It's almost like they don't want us to know or worry anyone if it go's around the lake I don't think they will be able to stop it in time for a lot of ppl.
Plus that and theres only one road out of here to Anchorage and the fire will burn right though it and to make matters worst were getting more hot weather coming and high winds.

I'm not sure what to say, as there still not telling us much but the fire planes are now flying over us but I see little smoke in the air but it is only 10% contained and they keep moving the fire meetings closer to us now, and we got a few C1-215's belly scoopers from Canada and some DC6's flying by now and we got fire crews coming from the lower 48 to help, that's really all I know right now other then 88 cabins and homes have been burned
Update; just walked outside and the smell of smoke is in the air and getting hazy now

  Well it's sunny and getting hot but from what I been told it's 50 percent contained and is burning low in the ground right now and not much smoke from it now but there saying that if the winds kick back up it could get nasty again but so far so good for now
