need any info on lyrica

has any one here ever been on lyrica or taking it now? read some info on it and not to sure if i want to start taking it or not.my doc perscribed it to me almost amonth ago and have not taken it yet.could i please get some advice on this med.

why are you unsure about taking this medication? I have never taken it but from my reading it looks like it helps with nerve pain (something I could have used after I got shingles...that was painful)

i have read some thing's on this med that says it can cause your heart to race out of control.did you say that you have taken this med? if so, could you tell me the way it made you feel af far as being , i dunno on cloud nine maybe,im funny about drugs that make me feel asthough im high..i would like to think you for your reply,that was very sweet of you.

I have not taken this before but from what I have read it is for chronic nerve pain. I see that it is also an anti-epileptic drug. Which will you be taking it for? You may want to post your question on the chronic pain board if it is for nerve pain. Someone there may have had more experience with the drug. All drugs will have their side effects. Some more severe than others depending on the person taking the medication. Have you expressed your fears to your doctor? This might be a good idea. The meds I take all list about 45 side effects, some of which seem worse than what Im trying to dispel. I have never experienced any serious side effect with any drug and the only way I have come to find this out is by actually taking it. But if you feel extremely anxious about taking this drug, please talk to your doctor about it and tell them why you feel this way. They may be able to alleviate your fears.

This is not a med that many of our members use to the best of my knowledge.

Lyrica is used for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy; postherpetic neuralgia; and in combination with other drugs to treat partial onset seizures in adults. It also is used for treating fibromyalgia.

If your physician prescribed this a month ago and you have not used it, I would recommend that you talk with he/she to discuss the use of and side effects. You might also want to post this question on one of the pain forums.

Hello.

I never took this medicine before.

It seems as though every medicine out there has a lot of side effects.  Of course, that does not mean you will experience them. 

If you feel unsure about it, I would speak to your doctor and maybe he can prescrible something else for you.
