scared

Ive had anxiety my whole life, but its gotten worse. I get a severe cold feeling all over my body and I have to lay down or i will pass out, I even vomit. I havent ever had anything this extreme. Does this happen to anyone? 

I've never vomited, but i've had both cold and hot feelings and have passed out a few times. One time i passed out going for my medication. I was in such a bad attack I passed out with the pill bottle open and woke up on the kitchen floor in a pool of sweat, and medication everywhere... That was the first time i had panic, and after i took some pills and slept for 2 hrs I was off to the hospital. I havent passed out since, but that was pretty scary. I had about 10-15 attacks each getting worse and worse, but i didnt know what it was. I was so scared, and felt like i was going to die. That was a horrible night.

This was about 3 years ago, maybe 4.

Anyways, i've felt those symptoms. My mom has too.

I actually vomit a lot (or try to vomit) when i am having panic attacks. Its probably one of the main ways I know I am having panic attack. In my case I think its because your stomach gets so tense that in a way you feel like your purging the tenseness there. I was also a bulimic in my teenage years so that may explain things a little. I am on Lexapro 20mg and I take a .5 of Ativan every morning. I think ive gotten over getting addicted to Ativan cause it seems to help. I am probably going to have to up it to 1 mg since my body is getting used to it. I'm not so sure the Lexapro works either..I was on it a couple years ago and I didnt see that I was any different. I think its more in my mind than anything. I had to quit my job because of panic and anxiety and I am still not ready to go back to working. I too sit alone every day since my boyfriend is a teacher and went back to work but I think the TV helps a lot. You need noise. I swear it helps focus your mind on other things. Just know you aren't the only one going through this. I too am sitting alone not knowing what to do next but I am starting to feel better slowly. Keep hope! And if you dont like your job..dont stay with it because that was one of the biggest factors of my panic!

I too have experienced some of the same feelings.  But what caught my attention is that you are too afraid to take something stronger.  If it helps, then why not?  I hope you feel better soon.

Thankyou all for your input it is so comforting to know that I am not dying, and I just have panic attacks. I am not able to hold down a job, the symptoms are too severe I met with a psychiatrist who prescribed celexa and xanax, wont take the xanax but Im guessing it will be a comfort to know I have it. I am also in therapy, not sure its helping but im sticking with it.
