I am sad because I had a several pnic attacks at work and lost my job- Now I can't drive

thats rough. I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your job and had panic at work... Why cant you drive? if you dont mind me asking...

because they put me on meds and I'm can't drive as a passenger very well- I need to get out of house

Hey there Lorisanxious, and welcome to healingwell...I know what you are feeling now, as I lost my job in April due to anxiety. What meds are you on that you can't drive...if you don't mind me asking? Whenever you feel comfortable, post more about yourself, and people here will help you as much as possible.

Hi Lori,

I also take meds that at first made me so drowsy I would half the day away. It does get better. In time your body will be able to adjust. If it helps any, when/if you take meds at night, go to bed and let the meds help you relax and get a good night's sleep. This works for me a lot but everyone is different. It's not much but I hope it helps.

Hello Lori and Welcome to Healing Well.  This is Kitt.  I am sorry that you have lost your job.  I too would like to hear what meds your on when your ready to share :)

Why have people lost their jobs, if this is not too personal a question? Wouldn't an anxiety disorder be a disability that would protect people from losing their jobs over?

You would think so pf....but well, my boss put up with my anxiety issues for about 2 months, and then said enough is enough. I admit, I wasn't nearly close to my full potential, and I was missing time and stuff. I guess it depends on how much your boss is willing to handle, or is able to tolerate. I coulodn't do my job, he had no choice but to let me go...maybe if I were in his position, I would have done the same...who knows? I have never felt angry at him for letting me go, eventhough it did ruin my life, in a way. It took away income we as a family depended on and were use to having.

THis disease stinks!!!
