I've been slurring my words insanely and I always think I'm getting dimentia but I'm only 22 years old, I'm so OCD and aware of every problem I make which is why I'm so worried all the time.... man this is tough, I hope the new boost 25 mg of Lamactil does something for me...

I hope the brain fog clears soon, I found largactil made me really foggy not sure if they're the same drug though.

Lamactil is a drug you want to titrate up slowly as faster will cause some nasty sx.

Take care and if you have any cause for concern remember you do have the right to call you Pdoc re the meds.

Hi Paulos,   I'm also on Lamictal - 200mg/day for Bipolar Disorder and it works pretty well for me.  But when I first started taking it my speech was slurred also; now it only happens once in a while and I'm not sure it's because of the of the Lamictal only because I'm on so many other meds.    What you need to remember, and I'm sure you already know this, not every med is right for every person.  Everyone reacts differently and you can also react to a med at some point down the road even though you have been on it for a while.  As Kitt said, Lamictal is a med that needs to be increased very slowly or the side effects could become nasty.  Remember to consult with your pdoc if you think the med(s) you are on aren't the right ones for you.  You have every right to do that because you have to be in control of your treatment.   Also, cute things make me smile also - babies especially, but puppies and kittens because they are just so playful.  I love teddies and other stuffies, even though I'm 42 years old and my kids know I like them, so I often get them as gifts.  LOL.   I hope some of this info has helped.    Wen

Hi Paulos,   Wow - great job on the no booze.  It's a difficult thing to quit drinking, I did this about 15 years ago when I got pregnant with my 2nd son.  It was the best thing I've ever done for myself and I honestly believe that getting pregnant with him saved my life.  I don't think I would be here now because I would have drank myself to death.  I just quit cold turkey because I knew it was best for the baby.    Keep up the great work and let us know how you are doing.  Big KUDOS to you!!!   Wen

Yeah and now I have some new issues... and old issues that are hard for me to face..... all the old days of contractors always being at my house... new additions... new annoyances... now my former stepfather getting out of jail on parole and being at my house... and with a door being installed right next to mine so it's like a god darn apartment... everyone with their living quarters, I never wanted my house to be like that... so yeah things are on my mind, hit my punching bag so hard it fell off the ground... day 7 without booze/nicotine, I really could easily ooze back into it... but no, I'm better than that.
