My Dr. suggested Seroquel for anxiety.  Anyone else have experience with this or thoughts?  I opted to give Lexapro a try and stay on Klonopin for a while since insomnia is a bug issue for me. But would Seroquel be a good choice?  She seemed to think it was a very good option.

I was on serequel 100mg before.I didnt like it(yucky side effects) I basically took it for sleep and i slept well aside for all the dreaming and it seemed to stay in my system for a long time because i would wake up the next morning and i would feel just awful!!! I would be very tired and very irritated. But i recomend you giving it a try because it may be good for you. I have found everyone reacts different to every medicine.I will say it definitly relaxed me too much!(lol) As for lexapro it didnt help me either felt more panicky.Felt like i couldnt get a deep breath while on it but ive heard its been very effective for alot of people.

Thanks for your input!  I am the queen of side effects so I am quite weary.  What have you  found that does work for you?  Dr. suggested that I only take 12.5mg of Seroquel, possibly this would be more tolerable.

Good Morning
I have not used Seroquel but I do use Trazadone for sleep.  You are on Lexapro and Klonopin which is a good combo but as someone so nicely mentioned each person reacts differently to the meds.
I hope you do well on your present combo.  If you decide to try the Seroquel, ask your physician to explain in detail the purpose of and expected outcome of choosing this med.

HAY BadG some of the ones ive been on that work well are paxil,and im currently on zoloft it works well as those are SRI's though and they take up to 4-6 weeks to feel the real effects of them.Some of your good instant relievers are xanax,ativan,which i recently just tried and liked the effect.Also i have taken klonopin,it works well but it makes me kind of hyper! But as kitt siad everything works different for everybody! And all that other stuff she said too!(smile) I've been having panic attacks for 10 + years so ive been through my share of meds i hope you find a good one!!

I( agree that you have to find the right combo of meds that work for you

I do not take SSRI's for personal reasons but I am taking Valium again due to family and Dad being very sick .........

I have heard some good things about seroquel but again you have to find the right med for you ..and ask your doc to explain all possible side effects
I too am on Trazadone at night and it works great for me .......

Thanks All :) I just took my 2nd dose of 5mg Lexapro and noting too weird has happened. I feel OK. Will continue to take with Klonopin and also taking Amitriptilyne b/c it helps me sleep but MY GOD this seems like a lot of medication! Dr. says to remove one thing at a time once the Lex starts working and to go form there. Its funny, this is the second psychiatrist I have seen in the 2 years I have been having issues with anxiety, and the depression caused by my anxiety. However this Dr. not only thinks I have panic disorder but ALSO GAD and PTSD b/c I was in a relationship with a very unpredictable alcoholic for most of my 20's,. yikes! I just keep getting additional dx instead if getting better and having a normal life. Well, I am on the road to better living through chemistry...I hope. I have given up on feeling guilty for taking medication, I would rather be in this world and enjoying it swallowing some pills than drug free and wishing I was not in existance.

I knew a girl that started with PTSD and ended up with 7 different titles and meds to go with it. Sometimes a 2nd of 3rd opinion is needed.

Seroquel didn't work for me like xanax it made me more anxious, I like clonazepam but my rotten pdoc won't let me have it any longer. I don't think you're on too many meds, you have to live a life and whatever that takes is worth it.
