Hi, my name is Jordan, and i got a short story for you.
I have a diagnosed
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety
OCD
ADHD
Possible Bi-Polar
for the record
I am not medicated
about 5 years ago, I developed tremors, irritable bowel syndrome, eye focusing problems, and my ocd and anxiety got worse. Eventually, over the course of what felt like forever, the tremors dissappeared, the irritable bowel syndrome went away, and while the ocd and anxiety stayed, it wasnt as bad.
about a year ago now, I ended up getting sick, lying in bed for a week straight, I developed some bad back pain, soon after that I did a crazy diet where I lost 40 pounds in 40 days. Still no problems, aside from the back pain. The back pain persisted, and so I decided to try out yoga...
After my first session, my anxiety and ocd came back full force, and i developed allergy type symptoms. So I decided to take some sudafed, I accidentally took 2 12 hour sudafed time releases. My tremors returned that night, and that was about 4 months ago. I tried yoga a few more times but was unable to hold a stretch without shaking pretty significantly. I didnt notice this before, but who knows, I do have very very weak muscles. All this was going on during very high stress of starting a business with a friend, who ended up running off with the idea for himself. VERY HIGH STRESS. Im actually usually so stressed to the point where im naseaus throughout the day.
Anyways, about my tremors... movement doesnt seem to be much of a problem, though opening pistachio shells feels a little clumsy, as does doing anything that really requires fine motor skills.
As I am sitting here at the computer typing to you all, if i raise my fingers off of the keyboard and hold them there they can shake pretty violently, or I will notice them shake If i hold them out straight and move my fingers from the knuckle, without bending the actual finger. Outside of this... I dont really notice it.
Both hands, left hand is worse.... also seems to get worse when I leave the shower... but doesnt seem to be affected much by a hot tub... thats inconsistent. I will shake slightly worse after working out, or I will shake significantly worse after carrying a bag of grocerys in with that hand, all clenched up or after playing guitar hero.
If I lay on my bed, and squeeze my butt cheeks together and raise my pelvis, I will shake, but then again I have no core muscles, If i have my legs on the ground and raise my heel, keeping the front part of my foot on the ground, after a while my leg will shake.
Heres the things I have noticed
Caffine does not make it worse
The Severity waxes and wanes, and can sometimes almost dissappear.
Alcohol does not make it better
It was a sudden onset
I had it before, and It came back
Zanax does not help it.
(ive seen it change directions, not often though)
holding my breath does not make it worse
These are the reasons I think I dont have Essential Tremor, and I am desperatley needing reassurance.
I also was diagnosed with Lyme Disease recently.
I also tried something recently, Because I have been playing video games and being on my computer 12+ hours a day, I considered a form of RSI, so I stopped typing for a few days, and the shaking almost drops down to nothing.
though i can still notice it a bit when trying to hold a box of a food and trying to read it.
My mother also says, that if im concentrating on something with my other hand, my left wont shake...
maybe she is just hopefull?
Im not paticularly ready to give up my life...
Im just getting back into dirtbiking, Im getting into rock/mountain climbing, and soon everytype of high jump activie where you plummet towards the grown, and I for a living start up businesses... i play guitar and video games, i love to fish... and im a writer.
i dont want to be am essential vegetable :-(
is that offensive? i hope not...
slow movements seem kind of jerky sometimes, but fast movements have no adverse problems at all...
for example, if i raise the heel of my left foot off the ground, doing heel lifts, the process of doing them, i wont shake, but as i lower them back down, the movement will be jerky, if i do it fast though, its not an issue..
im also a hypocondriac too, so im always looking for things wrong with me, and thats how i know its a sudden onset, if you know me, you would absolutley know i couldnt be having tremors without noticing them..
I also drink alot of aspartame.
Nuerologist thinks im a quack, Doctor thinks im a quack...
Neuro said i wasnt having any muscle degeneration problems, though he checked... because my arms will feel sore and achy, and weak probably from all the hand work i do, guitar, pc, more guitar, more pc, video games, writing.
the hand that shakes more, also tends to look more sickly, more pale...
i found that interesting.
Im also very tired alot of the time...
