Though Born more sensitive than some Baby's and being overprotected by my late Father and Grandmother, most of my fears and Health Anxieties stemmed at an early age due to my Step-Mother.
She had her own set of fears, and I consider them to have been Phobia's because she had avoidance behavior. She wouldn't drive in heavy Traffic or on Snow and Ice.
When a very young Child she and my Step-Aunt scared me silly by putting me on Carnival rides like a double Ferris Wheel,Tilt-O Whirl, walking across a swinging bridge and Boat rides.
I had NEVER in my life experienced these things until they came into my life.Mother,my Step-Sister,Step-Aunt and her Daughter's enjoyed these activities.I on the other Hand HATED!
Mother blamed my Grandmother for causing my weight issues. She said Grandmother gave me Food to comfort me in the loss of my Mother, but I didn't become a lil Pork Chop until age 4.
I remember Mother taking me to the Doctor quiet often.Once she thought I was Diabetic coz I was drinking large amounts of Water.Another time she took me because of my weight. For some reason,I had the impression at a very young age that if we were taken to Doctor something must be wrong.
When I was around 11 she bought a Blood Pressure Monitor and always wanted to check everyone's BP.Being scared and thinking something was wrong with me made my BP be high when she checked it.
When Dad was diagnosed with Diabetes and Mother bought a Blood Glucose Monitor,I actually ran and hid until she put it away.

Kitt,
Childhood wasn't easy. After the death of my Biological Mother at age 1 Week and 4 Day's,I was the only thing Dad had left of her.
If something were to happen to me he wouldn't have anything remaining of her.Her death made Dad be extremely overprotective.
His overprotection turned into smothering then eventually to instilling fear in me.
He wouldn't allow anyone other than my Grandmother to Feed me.He wouldn't allow my Cousins to teach me to swim then when they were old enough to drive he wouldn't let them take me anywhere.
I kind of think my Step-Mother felt she had to take the very best care of me because of Dad's concerns..maybe she felt if I got sick or something happend he would blame her..
