Lately I have been following what Lucinda Bassett says about Anticipatory Anxiety in her Book:From Panic to Power.She says:
Wherever you are right now,however you feel in this moment,it's better than okay.You're on the verge of greatness!You have so much untapped potential,which you'll be able to utilize to the fullest advantage when you learn to accept yourself exactly as you are.That includes being Anxious and anticipating,but doing it anyway!Expect to feel anticipatory Anxiety.Understand what it is.Push through the wall and do it anyway,whatever it is:Driving,Traveling,Socializing,standing in lines,speaking,singing,Dancing,writing,taking risks,changing Careers,starting Relationships,being assertive.JUST DO IT!Go out on the Date.Go back to the Shopping Mall.Use your coping skills,choose a time when you're healthy,alert,rested and positive,and get on that Plane.Look at your pounding Heart as a symbol of your excitement.Because it is!
