Excessive sweating

I suffer from A/P, and am currently on
Cymbalta
Xanax XR

My real problem that I am dealing with (and the one problem that has NEVER gone away) is profuse sweating..........

I can't even get through a meeting, job interview, or family function without (at some point) breaking into a massive sweat-attack

my doc also game me propranalol to take an hour or so before an event, (and although it helps a little with the A/P) - -it does nothing for the sweating.

It's tough to hide my head sweat, cause I shave my head bald, and that's where most of the sweat comes out.

Do any of you suffer from anything like this as I would appreciate any suggestions any of you might have.

hi itinslln    one side effect from cymbalta is it make you hot .... guess we have to put up with something .... sweating here too in nevada... but at least i dont have to go out in public.... i dont have any suggestions steve.... just know you are not alone .... and bald men are very attractive  . imho... cool   megie

Welcome to HW.

I'm really not sure what to do about sweating. I get the same thing when I am really anxious too. I suppose you can't really put deoderant on your head now can you?!

I find one thing that helps me is to keep a handkerchief handy for profuse sweating moments, and to try and remember that most people don't even notice unless I point it out to them. We are all so self-obsessed! I also find that if I rinse my wrists under cold water when I am sweating that it cools me down quickly. I hope this helps you out a little steve, remember you are not alone in this.

Hello, and welcome.

I'm a big sweater too. I've suffered with it for years until I came across a product called Certain Dri. You can find it at Walgreens or basically any other drug store. I'm not sure what to say about head sweat other than, like the others said, maybe a hankerchief, but if you have a big problem with underarm sweating, try Certain Dri. Honestly, NOTHING worked for me until I found this product....and I tried EVERYTHING. I'm so much happier and more confident because now I'm always dry and I can wear any shirt I want and don't worry about sweating because I dont anymore.

Hello and Welcome to HealingWell.  I am Kitt and I just saw that very product today as my grandaughter uses it and says it works great. 

You may want to talk to your physician about your meds and see if there is another RX that would work better than the Inderal.

Again, welcome to HW and keep posting.  We have lots of members with great advice.
