tonight i am going to babelcon / nerd convention star trek, battlestar galectica, lord of the rings and so on,
well when i was a little girl i had a big crush on richard hatch he played apollo on battlestar galectica, well i get to have lunch with him tonight and a lady from star trek, a guy from star trek, and the guy who did the voice for robby the robot on the series long ago (lost in space) its so cool but with my anxiety i am scared to death, what if i get nervous and start shaking, i don't know but its still so cool , yes i am a nerd, my husband is a bigger nerd.

That's great news! I bet you'll have a wonderful time and be too involved in chatting with these folks to be very anxious. I don't remember whether you take meds; do you typically take any to get through big events?

Also, from what I know about trekkie conventions, even someone with a raging panic attack would be overlooked entirely in the general weirdness going on! Tee hee.

This sounds so exciting. Can you take a camera and get pics? That would be soooo cooool. Have a great time and let us know how it goes. I am sure that you will be having such a good time that you wont even notice any anxiety. And if you do, just breathe your way through it. You can do this my friend, Have a blast...

You will do great! Take meds (if you do take them!) and just try to relax and use whatever techniques you use - but enjoy the moment! Did you say your husband is going too - I know I always feel better when my husband is around - so that will help. I am sure among all that chaos no one will notice your "excitement" - think of your nerves as excitement! Have a great time!

i take lexapro , klonopin, a beta blocker and a blood pressure med, i am so excited i never have met a celebrity before, much less get to dine with them, still nervous though

it went great i got to meet richard hatch he was sweet and i got to take 6 photos with him at first my husband took a couple and richard looked to see how they came out and said come over here and we took some more, then the next day saturday i saw him and got a signed picture of him from battlestar galactica and he said come here and we took another pic, well i got to meet bob may who played #2 robot on lost in space not robbie the robot i got the robot names confused, but i used to watched it all the time, and bob was so nice he talked to us all the time so did richard, the meet and greet was so nice because there was about 35 people there and i was not nervous i don't know why, everybody was in tshirt and jeans which made me feel comfortable and these actors were so normal people. i had a great time the second my anxiety was alittle bad at first but it went down , there was alot of people there saturday, i got to meet the other two actors as well both played on newer star trek i recognized them but i used to watch the older star trek as a kid and up to when captain picard took over, tongue
