Hair lost from stress

Can severe stress induce hair lost within a short period of time? Such as telogen effluvium?

Sometimes stress can play a role in diffuse hair loss. Stress-induced loss ordinarily regrows within a year of eliminating the cause. The amount of hair lost can depend on the severity of the stress.

Perhaps other members will have more info to share with you.

Nitro,

I have heard of people's hair turning grey in a short period of time due to stress and anxiety and I assume that the same thing could happen with hair loss. Often when we are in high anxiety we do not get enough nutrients and this can cause hair breakage or loss. A diet rich in esential fatty acids, Omega 3, (tuna, salmon, avacado etc) can combat hair loss. I'm really not an expert on this but balance in diet and in emotion is key to having a healthy body. If you have real concern, please seek mediacl advice.
