Went to court yesterday for my son who is being charged with possesion of a class D substance and trespassing. And once again nothing was resolved. My sons lawyer,that we pay by the way, was trying to get the charges dismissed by having the pot that my son was caught with sent to a state lab to be tested to make sure it's pot. Anyways there has been no result from the lab since april. So meantime we pay the lawyer every time we go to court. I wanted my son to own up to the charges and pay his dues but because the lawyer is our son's lawyer and not ours he has to listen to my son. So we go again on Oct 9th and if the state doesnt have the results the lawyer is going to try and have it dismissed. If they finally have the results my son will have to plead guilty which I think he should. Anyways it just pisses me off that it can drag on so long and that my son doesnt have the guts to own up to what he has done. And he just doesnt have a clue as to the expense or the time it takes to go to court. Every time we go we have to take vacation time so we can be with him. If he appreciated it or just said thank you or expressed some love to his Dad I dont think I would mind so much, but he says he can't stand his father and cant live with us because we are so unfair. BTW this isnt his first time in court.

I know I'm ranting and I hope some of this makes sense but it just makes me so angry! I wish he would grow up and be a man! ...Jodes

Sounds like you"ve got a teenager! Court is just one game or another. It'll pass. Just remember everything works out for the best. My son got caught riding his motorcycle in town next to the school (he really was wheeling) Lawyer said since he had a full helmet on how do they know it was him. I guess the numbers on his bike gave it away any how, I wanted him to own up to it too. They (lawyer and son) finally owned up to it and they gave him a fine.He learned and stays on the track now. However $1900 for that! I'm a mother of 3-2 on there own 1 15! Teenagers are in thier own world of selfisness, ignore him he grows up some day.My 26 yr.old JUST told me how much he appreciates me. Good luck with court.

How old is your son if I may ask?  I understand your anger and frustration. I hope this will get resolved at the next court date.  I know how difficult motherhood can be at times but in the end they our still our children no matter what age............my baby is 36 years old. shocked    I do not know how that can be as I am only 49       turn

Yeah he's a teenager alright. He's 17 and knows everything! I have 2 older boys 23 and 21 and though they got into trouble I knew they would grow out of it, and they did. This one is different he's headed down a very dangerous path and I have no way to stop him.

Enought about him. It's a beautiful day here and I'm determined to enjoy it. I hope both of you have a great day also....Jodes

I have been thru those terrible teen yrs like you with our oldest son.
Our son also was headed down that dangerous path, it's just such a helpless feeling.
I will take a screaming baby at 3am anytime over a teenager!
I feel your frustration with your son. Are you in any counceling ? That did help my husband and I with our decisions, and letting him fall down so low, and taking responsiblity for his actions. This is so very hard to do.
We still are doing it with him. He'll be 21 in January. He has been taught right from wrong from us . He just doesn't want to listen to anyone at this time.
Just pray and pray to help you both get thru this. That is the only thing that helped me and still does.

Hi L, both my husband and I are in counseling, and we know we have to let him go down that path but it's so hard to do! I always feel guilty that it's my fault for where he is. But I know in my head he has made his choices on his own it just has to get to my heart.

Know that I will be thinking of you and your son. And feel free to talk to me when it gets to be too much for you..cause I know what that feels like....Jodes
