Wow Unhappy, that is great that you pursued your education and met that goal. I agree that we can meet our goals if we work hard, and like you, I want to do more to deal with my anxiety so I can pursue other goals that are meaningful to me. We are in this together and as you say we can learn from each other's successes here. Thank you for sharing your story!

Everyday I can pull myself out of bed is an accomplishment in itself.

I grew up miserable. I had hurt feeling constantly and felt totally out of place in my family. And I always hid it. I never, ever told anyone my true feelings, and How I feel about myself and the world. It took me to grow to be 20 years old to get help with therapy.
I still struggle, but the fact that I commit myself to therapy is one of my greatest accomplishments by far.

I agree it took me 20yrs to admit to myself that i had a problem and to seek therapy so that would be an other success in my life.

I see so much positive in the fact that we are all able to admit that we have anxiety, we have put a name to our feelings and now we know what we are fighting against.

One of my successes was not letting my dyslexia stop me from pursuing my chosen career, my teachers at school told me i was never going to be able to attend further education as i was not academic enough and was told i was aiming to high, this is were most of my anxiety and depression started as my confidence was so low and i was not getting the support i needed. I left school only passing one exam which was sports, i got myself on to an access course and worked really hard and then got a place at college and gained a diploma in Leisure Management this was a two year course but i had to do it over three years as i found it hard to keep up with the work i found it really hard work but stuck with it and it was worth it in the end.

Ben i am SO proud of you. some people should never have been teachers. i cant believe the negativity! i teach high school, and i specialise in kids with learning difficulties and literacy problems. none of which should ever hold you back from anything. i would NEVER tell one of my kids that they cant do whatever they want. i reinforce all the time how proud i am of them and that if they want something bad enough, they can do it!

good on you for sticking it to them and proving them wrong. feels pretty good, huh?!

Hi Maz

Thanks for your comments, Because there was not much knowen about dyslexia when i was at school most of my teachers just thought i was thick so did not spend the time with me. One of my worst teachers used to get me to do jig saws at the back of the class at a desk which looked out the window while every one else did there normal lessons and as i said before i think this is were a lot of my anxiety came from, i did not enjoy school one bit while i was there. I wish i could off had a teacher like you Maz and im really pleased there is someone like you who is teaching kids who need that extra bit of help they are so lucky to have you keep up your good work.

It did feel good when i passed my diploma and showed me what i can do, know i just need to sort out all damage and try and beat my GAD/Depression

How proud we all are of you and with Big Sis/Lyn helping you look how far you have coem.

Always keep putting one foot in front of the other, and you will be in the winners circle.  Life has only good things instore for you.  Those lumps in the road are just that little challenges.

Hello Everyone...............I have been on the merry-go-round of changing doses on meds and I have been working hard on that.

Yesterday I wanted to go  visit my sister and I was in the grip of anxiety.  Bad attack and I did all the things I was supposed to but finally my hubby said just lay down and rest.  I will drive you up after lunch.  So we both went.  What a guy.  He hates the freeway drive.

I love to visit with her and have a hard time staying home but sometimes the fear of losing her overwhelms me.  I don't want her worrying about me.

I also picked some ornaments off the Xmas tree of items they need at the Cancer Lodge.  I icked bingo prizes, white plastic hangers and throw blankets so I best get to the store as I hear snow is headed this way.
