I need some advice for my 13 year old daughter. But let me give you a bit of a history on her first and then if you could, offer any opinions you may have. I honestly don't know what she is going thru is medical related or if it's anxiety.
about a year and a half ago, she fell into a group of unsavory friends. I found that she was harming herself, doing some drugs, had insomnia and was an emotional mess. I took her to therapy and she seemed to be doing better. She no longer hurts herself and she has made a 360 from where she was last year. Partly I believe it was due to the stress of having my grandmother living with us that had many health problems and Alzheimers that she was acting out. Since I moved my grandmother out into an assisted living center, things have calmed down significantly with my daughter. But last July, she was tubing on the water when she fell off hitting her head on the water. Since then she has been having headaches so I took her to the doctors. The doctor put her thru p/t as well as using muscle relaxers. That seemed to do the trick and her headaches got a lot better. No other neurological problems either by the way. So now enters a new problem. She has been complaining of having a detached feeling. Like she is in a dream. I had to pick her up from school today because she had a major dizzy spell. Of course her family doc is on vacation so I took her to urgent care. They didn't do much for her there other then presribe a med for vertigo. I made an appt with her family doc for next Monday to see about getting her in for a MRI just to be on the safe side. But now I'm wondering if this detached feeling she is having can be from anxiety. I asked her if she felt like was filled with anxiety and she felt she didn't think so. That things are going pretty good for her at the moment, but can't anxiety attacks happen even if you are not aware of them? Or having circumstances that surround the attacks?
I know that I may get my answer next Monday when she sees her family doc, but I thought I would ask your opinions. Do you think it can be anxiety related, even if things seem to be going good for her? Or do you suppose that it can be medically related to her headaches? To tell the truth, I am worried to death about her. My spunky spry girl is not acting herself!
