Good Morning and I do mean morning..........I am greatful for another sweet morning and just a reminder today is Thursday 12/12/08. cool

 

Today's question:

Does anyone have any favorite shows or songs that they can't wait to see or hear during the Holidays?

I look forward to Charlie Brown, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph. Oh, I can't leave out A Christmas Story...it's probably my favorite of them all!

It is Thursday..you need to borrow those footsie pyjamas and get some sleep Kitt.

Now, I'm such a geek, but my favourite christmas show is the Sesame Street episode where Big Bird waits up for santa..geez am I showing my age or my immaturity??? I love it beacuse it reminds me of my childhood.

Join in and tell us how you are. And someone please have worse taste than me...

i am counting down the days until the christmas holidays come, they cant come soon enough. students are restless, the weather is reeeeallly weird at the moment, im anxious about all the commitments i have to go to, and im trying to budget, cos im not earning enough money to pay all my bills easily...and im not sleeping well, and i cant function on less than 8 hrs- zoloft side effect. and im sick, so phsyically sick- sinuses, ruptured eardums, fibro flare and a chest infection. antibiotics havent kicked in yet.

i tend to withdraw when i feel overwhelmed. and i know it shouldnt matter, but im having a 'girls nite out' in the city n saturday night and A: im the only single one in the group, B: im the only overweight one in the group. and i am very concious of it. i used to love having my photo taken, now its just a reminder of what my illness has done to me. rolleyes

bah humbug. but much love to you all- Maz XX

I have always loved "The Grinch who stole Christmas". And my favorite Christmas song, which always make me cry, is "Oh Holy Night". Its good tears though because it makes me feel closer to God (and always brings fond memories of my late Dad, it was his favorite too.)

Another great question.  We love to watch the Christmas specials around here and tend to watch them all thanks to ABC family.  But our can't miss shows are A Christmas Story..."you'll shoot your eye out", Polar Express, The grinch that stole Christmas...both the cartoon and the one with Jim Carey and all of the old claymation shows that we grew up with, rudolph, here comes santa clause, the year without a santa clause, frosty, etc.  Also love the little drummer boy.

As for songs, there are just too many, but I do tend to like the older ones done by the original singers more than the remakes, guess cause that's what I grew up hearing.  We have two radio stations here that play nothing but Christmas music starting before Thanksgiving and we have it on in the car always and at home whenever we can.  The music can really get you into the spirit of the holidays.

HI Everyone -
I am doing alright. I haven't been able to sleep the past 3 nights. Last night I even took a sleeping pill and was awake for 4 hours before i decided to give up. I actually called in sick to work today - I am a nanny a few days a week. I feel bad but I can't function on no sleep, especially for several nights.
Anyway, I am really looking forward to Christmas this year, more so than past years, not sure why but I am really getting into the spirit. My favorite shows are the old school Frosty the Snowman cartoon, and the retro claymation Rudolph. I love those! In terms of music, I love classics like Jingle Bell Rock.

Hello and morning/afternoon to ya'all :) LOL

Anyway, I love NL Christmas Vacation too Kitt :) We also watch A Christmas Story, Deck The Halls, All three Santa Clauses with Tim Allen, etc. We are geeks too and will watch so many Christmas shows on TV, which included Disney Channel and PBS (I like Big Bird too :) Now the kids are grown up, I still find I'm a big kid myself :)

Great thread and question Kitt.  Have I told you lately you are wonderful.

Rudolph is my old favorite but new favorite is Polar Express.  I don't know when Polar Express originally came out but I just saw it this past weekend with my niece and nephew when they were staying with me and brought the DVD.  OMG how cute and adorable.  I am totally awestruck by the movie.

As for songs, Partridge Family Christmas.  Yep, showing my age on this one aren't I????!!!!  Grew up with it on album (remember what an album is?) and finally found it on CD a few years ago and paid dearly for the CD but love it.
