Kitt has kindly asked that I take over roll call for awhile, which i am very happy to do.

so being that it is a new year, (and i wish you all an excellent 2009!), todays question is:

'Do New Year's resolutions ever work?'  if they have worked for you in the past, share with us. if they have not, share with us!

Personally they have never worked for me- i always break them within 24hrs! lol.

Haha the only one I ever made and kept was the one I made 9 years ago on 12/31/1999 and that was to not smoke in the millenium. Which I proudly can say that (here at least) that at 11:55 pm 12/31/99 I smoked my last cigarette and have never looked back.

Congrats, Nanners! I think that's the best resolution a person can make. Good for you! My resolutions never work. But they will this year. I'm determined more than ever to make some changes. Resolutions are only successful if the person making them is motivated. I guess I haven't been motivated in the past. But you can be sure mine will last this time.

Hello :) Maz that is a great question!

I think mine was quiting smoking and never starting again too Nanners :) I don't know if that counts all the New Year's resolutions before that one although, lol. I'm pretty much in the same boat to Maz :) Anymore I kind of just make it a prayer thing that includes so many people like my HW family!

I do not remember ever making one that impacted a whole year.

I have one this year thow.  This one is dedicated to the man I married.  I will beat this A & P and make his life less stressful as I know I cause him concern.

I typically don't make New Year's resolutions. If I want to do something or accomplish something, I try to do it then.:-)

that I could keep or really truly wanted too .......lol

I usually don't do well with resolutions, regardless of when I make them.

I did do really well with one for a bit, where I committed to going for a walk every single day. It lasted for two months.

I tend not to make new year's resolutions.  I have, however, this new year, beginning today, vowed to myself that each morning I will wake up and give myself a "positive" talk and try to stay as positive as possible at work each day (it's pretty bad and chaotic at work now and for the future), so I am going to try to stay outside all the negative vibes people are putting off at work.  Hopefully, that will help me stay more positive.  I don't have a choice in how the holiday schedule for the year was made or the fact that I have to begin working every other weekend so I am trying to accept my fate for what it is and find a positive in all of it.  Hey, one big positive is "at least I have a job" (may not like it but I am employed and very grateful for that).  I guess what I am trying to say is I am gonna make my life more positive and make "acceptance" a way of life and let go of the negatives at work and focus on what I can do to make my situation as positive and emotionally healthy for me as possible.
