Sad to say but you may need to go to Emergency Room and tell them you are having chest pains. They will automatically hook you up to EKG and do everything to cover their a** so to speak to make sure you are well for release. Even though my EKG (which really just indicates if you HAD a heart attack) came out fine, they kept me overnight for an ultra sound of heart and stress test which all came out fine. That was my first panic attack in November of 07 and was scary since I was out of town on business.
Last December it came on again. I went to Dr. who just gave me Xanax 3 times daily as needed. Since I would not take them daily, he also put me on Zoloft which was really bad for me and brought about
warm flushing feelings every eveining. I have been off Zoloft now for 2 weeks.
My symptoms are a littel different. Pain seems start in upper back and then gives a aching feeling on arm pits and a pain in the chest. Then a hot flash feeling comes through the legs and sometimes chest area.
Again, I recommend to go to ER. Although it may be costly, it will put you at ease.
