Incontinence from Anxiety/Panic?

Sorry I haven't been here in awhile.  My financial situation is such that my friends are converting their garage for me to

live in with my beloved cats (blessed be!!).  On the other hand, for the first time in my life I have become nighttime-only

incontinent.  Started when I did this contract job with an attorney that was a bit crazy-making - nice, but unrealistic and

very forgetful - long story.  Day 2 of working there I became nighttime incontinent, completely.  It was contract work, so

I've stopped working there because of the stress/anxiety and my incontinence stopped - for 3 days until another attorney

suggested I work for her - my  mom told me she just needed someone to answer phones and get her organized (which I'm

really good at, so I thought, what the heck).  Ends up she does Family Law which I know almost nothing about and she

wants a full-on Legal Secretary (which I am, but not in family law), and I became incontinent again that night.  I've decided

not to do that job.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

NOTE:  Since there's no "Incontinence" forum - didn't know where else to write and it's totally related to stress of the move,

no job other than pet-sitting, errand-running and the medical stress-related issues my cats are having living in an apartment of boxes

pre-move in about a month.

Thanks for anything anyone has to offer.  I'm still living in gratefulness and doing the best I can, it's the best I can do - just wondering

if anyone else had this issue with their anxiety and/or panic issues?

I do believe you're very right!  I've been a civil litigation legal secretary for about 25 years and
after what happened with the Psychologist and Psychiatrist (my earlier postings, it's been awhile)
and being agoraphoebic for those two years, just really want to be around animals, would rather work
at a sandwich shop or manufacturing plant - somewhere that feels safe.

Things will get better, I know.  If I become permanently incontinent, then that's that, I'll accept it.  
I have just been wondering how other people dealt with the continual incontinence thing from stress.

Oh yeah,

I'm definitely wearing those, except a cheaper brand that Albertson's carries
calls "Equaline" (thank GOD).  Not sure if you have Albertson's supermarket
where you are but they are 1/2 the price and work perfect.

Oh, I need to tell you something! I don't come here often but I'm around. I came
mainly to check on Nickki.

I think you have irritable bowel. You will need to go to a gastroenterologist and
have it checked. You will need a colonoscopy. (They are not bad. They give you
a nice IV and you kinda float. You lay on your side and everything is totally covered
up except you .... (you know) ; )

I had that for three years .... a long time ago. I finally got cured. What cureld me
was quite unusual. Anyway, I thought for three long years that I was just going
to die.

Really. I don't know all the boards but if you go to Chrohns they'll know. Good luck.

I've never become incontinent from anxiety/stress, but I do have to go to the bathroom a lot. Sorry this is happening to you. It does seem that there is a direct link for you, though I would definitely tell your doctor. Are you a really heavy sleeper or on sleeping meds? If not, I guess I'd be a little concerned that you are not waking up to go to the bathroom before it's too late.

I have some stress incontinence especially with the GERD.  When I have regurge in the middle of the night and wake up coughing and gagging I may have some mild incontinence.

You could also have a  weakened bladder that just relaxes when your sound asleep................ I do hope this improves now that the job is over.  I understand your frustration.

Geez, I am SO sorry to hear about your neck pain!  My mom has had two surgeries already on her neck
(she's 79).  I hope, hope, hope they figure out what is going on there and actually fix it completely so
it never, ever hurts again!  My sister and I have neck pain, too, but no surgeries.  Mine has lessened a LOT
since I started wearing (a-hem, excuse me gentlemen), strapless bras.  The first month it still feels like
you're wearing a regular one (memory, I guess), but my neck pain has diminished SO much and can say
I do not have chronic neck pain anymore for making that small change.  I still get very stiff-necked and
it sometimes hurts, but I do the stretches the P/T told me to do and it feels 80-90% better right away.

about Diabetes, I'm actually very hypoglycemic.  I'm not sure if it can transfer over to being diabetic
when it's at the other end, but maybe something I should check out.  My dad had diabetes, but my
mom and the rest of us are very hypoglycemic.  Dizzies, fallen a couple times from not eating correctly
(long ago).  I always keep almonds and protein things in my car, just in case.

I honestly haven't been to a doctor (other than Psychiatrist/Psychologist) in 4 or 5+ years 'cause I
really am afraid for what I believe to be justified reasons.

I am SO grateful for the incontinence unders they have out there!  For a week I was without when
it first started and it was just awful; now I don't have to worry anymore.  It stopped after I quit
that job, then came back intermittently now.  If it keeps up {{{sigh}}} I'll try to get a reference
to a caring and good doctor for it.
