Struggling with paranoid thinking.

I am having real problems with paranoia at the moment and getting all sorts of paranoid thoughts going through my head which is really worrying me. When I was taking a lot of illegal street drugs I had the same problems as im having now with the paranoia but related it all to the drug use, I stopped the drugs a long time ago but as I have said before I do worry that I may of done some irreversible damage. Does any one else suffer with paranoia? Is it a symptom of anxiety?. I am heading home to the UK on Friday and will be seeing my doctor start of next week and will be talking to him about this and I will also be starting CBT soon. I am just worried the paranoia may be a symptom of an other mental health problem, any advice would be welcome.

I'm sorry that you are feeling so down and having many issues with your anxiety. I have to agree with Nanners on the paranoia kicking in due to the high anxiety, because this has happened to me too. It is great you are going back home finally and seeking the help that you need my friend. I want you to succeed and have a great life :)
