Hi Nicold,
I understand how you are feeling.
I also have suffered panic attacks since I was 17. ( I am 46 now). I could never get a doctor to listen to me about it and as a result have never used medication for it.
Here are some ways that I have learnt to deal my anxiety that may be helpful..these have helped me..
Consider your diet ..cut out all stimulants (coffee, cafeine drinks or rich foods) and try to avoid fast/junk foods.
When you start to feel rising anxiety, focus on a taking a deep breath in - and imagine releasing all tension as you breath out..
Think of a time when you had a major achievement or felt really great about yourself and focus on the memory of that achievement..
then tell yourself that you will be fine and know that you can do great things the you can also get through this experience..
( I used to have attacks when I went to shopping centres then I reminded myself that if I can travel to a foreign country and manage to get around then I can manage in the local familar shopping centre)
Some yoga /mediation may also help a lot especially with the breathing.
Lastly as per the great advice from the previous poster, Allestaria ..never ever give up by allowing this to get in the way of your life and happiness..
Take lots of care,
Jenni
