Has anyone had good success with Celexa for Anxiety/Depression?

I started on this med a couple of months back but at a very low dose.  Recently my dosage was raised and feel very well.  Other than on again/off again slight nausea I really have not had bad side effects.  Anyone else had satisfactory results?  I have also noticed that since dose was increased, my Xanax use has really dropped.

Hey Gem,

Many people have great results with Celexa and I am glad to hear it is working for you.  If it works that is great.  I would not mess with it.  :)

You will read many posts re the meds and each person has different experiences so do remember what works for one may not work for another. 

I have never used this med but used others in the same family.  I did not have good success but that is me.  If I had a good outcome I would have stuck with the med.

I take both celexa and xanax. However, I rarely take xanax anymore, maybe .25mg pill every other month or when I am taking a trip by vehicle. I take the celexa every day and it seems to work for me.

Im currently on week 3 of Celexa.....and it's finally kicking in. It was a rough few weeks though. I do have nausea every morning..but I think it has a lot to do with my nerves and i do have some stomach issues. But, if my mind feels good, the stomach issues will eventually work themselves out. I also take .25 of xanax in the morning to ease the start of the day.

Do you take your Celexa in the morning? I used to take my Celexa in the morning and had nausea. I talked to my doctor about it and he suggested taking my Celexa at night, which I began to do. I have not experienced the nausea since I began taking the med before bed.

I take my Celexa in the morning because Ive been having so much trouble sleeping. My doctor didnt want to take the chance of it keeping me up. My nausea is horrible....I think it's because my eyes wake up arounf 5am and I refuse to get up...so by time 8-9 rolls around the nausea kicks in from hunger/nerves from not falling back to sleep. Im a teacher and going back to work should be fun with nausea. Im hoping this alll goes away by Sept.
