Curious...how much Klonopin do people take

I have taken Klonopin on and off for weeks/months at a time over the past 10 years. Personally, I prefer them over SSRIs.
I take a super small dosage. I take the .5mg pill and break it into halves or quarters. I either take 1/2 tablet at bedtime or take 1/4 tablet 2x per day (usually lunch and before bed). My doctor is also NOT an advocate of BENZOs, but prefers to hand out SSRIs like candy. In my experience, starting and stopping a benzo (at a small dosage) is 10x easier than an SSRI with minimal side effects. My psychologist has told me that they are relatively safe as long as you are on a small dosage.
Don't let me defer you from taking an SSRI medication. They are helpful for many (including myself). They just tend to give me too many side effects and can be difficult (for me) to start and stop.
I think the doctors owe it to us to educate us (pros and cons) on these meds and let us decide what is best for us.
I recently have started taking Klonopin again due to a flare-up of acid reflux (aggravated by anxiety). I am convinced that the klonopin more so than the Protonix (reflux med) helps curb the reflux by suppressing the anxiety which is a huge trigger for me. You can read my story over in the GERD board.
I am also seeing a psychologist who is teaching me relaxation training and biofeedback. Once I can learn to control my anxiety, I plan to wean off of the klonopin.

I've taken 1mg three times daily for quite some time now, and it does help me. I think there are other factors involved, like body size, how you react to this drug class, etc.
