Hey guys, sorry to bring up this really old topic but maybe veterans would know a thing or two about
this :)
I found your site on google search and honestly, it's hard to put in the correct key words to find the exact topic I'm looking for but this seems to be the closest. I was first wondering if my symptoms sound like what you guys were describing (panic attacks?)
Just randomly, relaxed or stressed, after or before eating, or after waking up, basically anytime, I'll suddenly feel a quick shortness of breath lasting no more than 1.5 seconds. Just zap. But it's comes with a quick sharp top center of my chest pain. I presume that's the "losing breath" pain I'm feeling there? Anyhow, it's just quick but painful and scary. Just a sharp pain and no breath for a second. Yesterday I almost went to the emergency room because it was the first time I've had like 1 of those every 1 or 2 minutes for like 30 minutes. It was so scary. It gradually went away after 2 hours. But yeah today, had half a dozen already spread out and it worries me because I HAVE had this before but I'd get it only a few times a week. Now it's many times a day.
I'm trying to be as descript
ive as possible because I want to get an opinion if this is probably something from anxiety (which my friends say I might have). Just to be sure, panic attacks can happen any time? Doesn't matter if you're in a good mood / distracted / relaxed? It just happens? Because that's how I feel like usually to keep myself not focused on my health issues.
I will be seeing the doctor and I called my cardiologist who said not to worry (last month before all this he checked my breathing, etc and he said everything was fine).
Miscellaneous comments is I've been sick with weird things for a while (over a year now). I have a rapid heart rate at rest (90~bpm) and I'm always moderately dizzy. I've gotten checked for them and the docs find nothing wrong so I'll keep checking. As for now though I'm mainly asking about
the quick breathlessness / pain that happens at random times.
Thank you so much for any help! This is the first time I've ever posted on a health forum but I'm hoping someone could share some insights. I get freaked out easily after I've had so many health issues so that might be part of my anxiety build up.
