Anxiety Chestpain?

Hi everyone,
Not sure if this has been asked before but, does anxiety cause random bouts of pain in like the chest area, not so much like my heart I don't think because I have had an EKG recently which was normal. Ill get these sharp pains that have been coming and going for a couple weeks. no pain in my arms during the attacks. It will hurt for a few minutes and go away, i mentioned it to my doctor and he thought i was my acid reflux problem. I have been getting heartburn for a long time and it has never hurt like a sharp pain before...I know stress and anxiety can cause lots of weird things but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. actually i dont even seem to be stressed out when it happens.

Ghost i've had chest pains while i was having an panic attack but not just random chest pains. But to answer your question yes anxiety can cause chest pains and tightness in your chest too. Have you been having any shortness of breath or anything. If you have had a normal EKG then you are probably ok but i would keep watch on it and seek a second opinion if the pain doesn't subside. More than likely it probably is anxiety because like you said stress and anxiety can cause alot of wierd physical symtoms.
