Last night I tried Benadryl to sleep instead of Xanax....didn't work. I feel worse!

Sorry about
that....
Ive been taking Zoloft 75mg and Xanax .25 (bedtime) since July1. The anxiety has really subsided...thank God. But, the sleep hasnt come back. I know how addicting Xanax is thats why I wanted to try another way to fall asleep. Someone told me to try Benadryl (chidrens dose) So, I did that last night. Today I feel like crap. I didnt sleep much and I had a horrible dream when I did. Woke up with nausea and very groggy all day. Not myself. I was wondering if it's the missing dose of Xanax or if it's the Benadryl....
What do u think?

How long have you been taking the Xanax to help you sleep? If its been a month or longer you could have developed a dependency on it and your body needs it. So to help you feel better, I suggest getting another dose of Xanax back into your system and that should help you to feel better.

Nanners...
Ive been taking .25 since july 1. I took one last night and feel somewhat better today. I guess you were right. But, Im kind of worried that Im addicted to it. Doctor wants me to try Ambien CR. Any advice?
Thanks,

I would talk to your doctor about
it. Yes you are dependent on the med, but if you feel you are able to get off of the Xanax, then I would ask your doctor on the best way to wean off the Xanax. Otherwise, if the Xanax is helping your anxiety, then you should continue using it. Good luck!
