Opinions on SULFAMETH/TRIMETHOPRIM for UTI's

My doc just prescribed it to me bc Cipro made me so sick. Its 800mgs of SULFAMETH/TRIETHORIM

Anyone ever takin this med before?

How did you do?

I'm real scared of new meds! HELP!!!!

Jen, All I can tell you is this med is prescribed for UTI's frequently and I have taken it more then once for other infections.

Try not to let your fear keep you from taking the medication you need for you UTI. Aside from all the miserable symptoms that accompany UTIs (bladder infections), the greatest threat, and the reason it is crucial to treat them, is because of the risk of the infection spreading to the kidneys.

With all due respect Jennara, this is an anxiety/panic forum, we really aren't hear to discuss any meds other than those we use for our a/p.

If your doctor prescribed this med, then you need to trust him and take it. If you do not trust him, then find a new doctor.
