You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.

Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Blessings to each of you who are missing your loved one at Christmas time.

Thank you Kitt. Sometimes I forget to remember all my memories of my mom and I only focus on how much I miss her.

I know she is with me now as I am going through this difficult time.

Kitt, that is such a beautiful poem. I always remember fondly my grandmothers (and all my loved ones) this time of year (one grandma died on Christmas day many years ago). May you have peace and much love this holiday. My world wouldn't be the same without you (and everyone here) in it.

Yesterday I had a good day with my brother and sister, we laughed and cried over sweet memories of our Mama, it was a sweet time between us all. I also had a wonderful visit with some elderly folks at a local nursing home. Really touched my heart to be with them, and so amazed how gentle my loving husband was with them. Saw a side of him I never have. Very special time for me.

Very beautiful verse Kitt and nice to share in all of your memories. . . I've been missing G'ma so much, but have been spending a lot of time lately with those that feel the same and we have been enjoying going over photos and sharing funny stories of her :)
