I Am new I'm so much in pain. I just finished my radiation and chemo. I have a throat cancer stage. After the treatment I'm so depress with anxiety. I keep on crying. I have no choice is take some zoloft. I hope it works for me. Any suggestion.

Welcome to healingwell you have found a great support group. Sorry to hear you have had so much to deal with and hope your radiation and chemo have been successful. I am not surprised you are feeling depressed and anxious with what you have had to deal with, the Zoloft should help to improve your anxiety and depression but can take a few weeks before you notice any effect (6-8 weeks). Keep posting here and you will get a lot of support and meet people how can relate to what you are going through with your anxiety. You are part of the HW family now and we can help you through this rough time.

So sorry to hear of your medical problems. I hope the treatment is successful. This is a wonderful support forum to just talk of cry.

The zoloft can't take your medical condition away....just like me...but it should help you to stop concentrating on it so much. I know my health problem consumes me. I have to remember I have this disease...it doesn't have me.

I hope your anxiety lifts really soon. Maybe you could suggest to your doctor that you could use some sort of fast acting benzo to get you through until the Zoloft kicks in.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. I think you have a lot of reasons to feel anxious and depressed and coming here talking to the members of this forum was brave of you.



Many of our members have medical conditions to deal with so I know you will find that the members know where your coming from and what your going through.



I do hope you try the Zoloft. Remember it can take 6-8 weeks for some of these medications to reach their full therapuetic level in your body. Do you have a therapist to talk to or a family member or friend to help you with your feelings?

its hard to have this sickness. I can't even eat through my mouth. But sudden;y i can't use my mouth. I think of sores that ive been having. It will take time before it can heal. I can't talk with someone who has the same cancer so I can relate. Well I take some ativan to make me relax. Since Zoloft it will tkae time to kick in. There are a lot psychiatrist out there. I think all of the anti-depressants it will take time. i don't like strong meds because ive taken a lot med already.
