Anxiety is making me miserable ADvice anyone???

Im hoping someone here will read this and maybe give me a little piece of mind.  Im 37 I have suffered panic/anxiety disorder since I was 14.  I was doin well a few years ago, then my son passed away suddenly.  Now I dont sleep, lost lots of weight and anti depressants make me fell 100 times worse.  I am under a huge amount of stress right now and it seem Im having different physical symptoms then before... My stomach feels like crud gassy and just sick, I have been have panic attacks daily and sometimes more then on in the day.  As I type this im waiting to see a psychologist hoping that will help, going on 2hrs sleep sucking in bunches of air and belching i just feel absolutely terrible.  I feel like I will never be able to enjoy life like I want to.  I do take xanax daily which really scares me because they keep uping the dose...which is why im seeking a psycologists help.  Please anyone am I going crazy or has any others felt this way???

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. I am so sorry about your son, it is truly a Mother's worse nightmare as I know from my own experience.



I am wondering if you have been or are going to grief counseling. I know you mention your therapist and I hope you are able to talk about the terrible sadness you must be feeling.



Many people with anxiety have physical sx. I do not believe you are going crazy. I do feel you are going through the toughest time of your life and hope that you will know that it is okay to grieve in your own way and your own timeline. There is no set time for you to just get over your loss. My son died 19 years ago in a car accident and I still cry for him, not like I did in the beginning but there are times when other life challenges just seem more then I can handle on top of the loss of my son.



You will move through this but do count on your friends and family to help you and support you. Coming here and talking to us is a good way to get your feelings out so use us well. We are here and we care.

cry No, you are not crazy unless I'm crazy too, because everything you mentioned I'm experiencing as well. They put me on klonopin and prozac. I take the klonopin and I hate antidepressants. The bible said that Paul had a thorn in his side. This was to keep him in check because God wanted to use him ,and if God didn't give him a problem  Then he wouldn't have been able to use him. I think that our thorn in our side is to keep us protected from something and we need to get aquainted with the things of God so we can get answers.   Sorry for your loss,I love you and will pray for you.

I'm so sorry about your son. I could not even imagine. I suffer from a similar disorder and little things set me off - I could not comprehend what something on that magnitude would do. Anxiety and depression can have very strong physical symptoms and no doubt the lack of good sleep is making it worse.

I'm not a mother, but I am a son, and if I passed away I would want my mom to keep going strong and live her life to the fullest.

Do the best you can.
