Megan,
I am sorry to read of your anxiety and I do feel some of it may be normal. You are going through some medical problems and getting conflicting dx which is hard to deal with for most people.
Has anyone ever talked with you about PTSD? Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of anxiety disorder that's triggered by a traumatic event. You can develop post-traumatic stress disorder when you experience or witness an event that causes intense fear, helplessness or horror. Post-traumatic stress disorder treatment often includes both medications and psychotherapy. This combined approach can help improve your symptoms and teach you skills to cope better with the traumatic event and its aftermath.
CBT is often the therapy of choice for PTSD.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations, and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to
feel / act better even if the situation does not change.
There is a free online CBT that you can work through from home on your ow computer. Here is the link : the Mood GYM training program
http://moodgym.anu.edu.au/welcome
Do take the time to check it out and all you have to do is register to use this program.
Also seeing a therapist for yourself is another suggestion. I find this very helpful for my mental health issues.
Kindly,
Kitt
