In February I was diagnosed with severe cervical dysplasia and underwent surgery. Three weeks after my surgery I had my first panic attack. It was so bad that I eventually went to the ER. I was given ativan and was released that night. I immediatley saw my family doctor who prescribed me Zoloft. This made everything worse. I the went to see a psychiatrist who uped my zoloft. My panic attacks intinsified more. Every anti depressant med made everything worse I was in the ER 4 times. Finally, I arrived at my family doctors after hour care during one of my panic attacks. He observed me and listened to my problems and concluded that we would try an anti serizure med called Neurontin. He prescribed me to take the Neurontin 300mg 3 times a day as well as lorazepam only when needed. It seems like a miracle the Neurontin works well I don't have any side effects and it keeps my attacks at bay EXCEPT around my period. The week prior to my period I have multiple panic attacks and the night before I start it's really bad. I have read the birth control may help. Has birth control helped anyone in my situation?
