Feeling of going crazy

I am 21 years old and 2 months ago I was getting shots for my allergies... I had an anaphylactic reaction which nearly killed me. They treated me though and I survived... But ever since that day I felt wierd like It would suddenly happen again and I was really anxious. Ifor about 2 weeks it crippled me.. I was really scared and Had no idea what was happening to me.. I then did research on the symtoms and anxiety seems to be the conclusion.. I have had panic attacks often since then and I sometimes feel like im going crazy but soon realize that It won't happen. I soon was convincing myself that the drug was a source of my going crazy feelings... but then do the math I soon realize its all in my head... I have always been very good at controlling my thoughts and was very easy going... no im tense and in certain situations i just have horrible thoughts about going crazy and I am never going to feel completely normal ever again.. reading some of these post temporarily put my mind at ease... just remember to stay positive and love life... good luck everyone.

Hi and welcome! I am sorry to hear about your bad reaction to your allergy shots. I think maybe you have anxiety due to the traumatic experience, sort of like pstd. I had an unexpected complication with one of my pregnancies that required a lot of medical intervention. I think that may have set me up for my health anxiety. It can sometimes be an unexpected trigger in our lives that starts the anxious cycle. The good news is that you can get help. I encourage you to ask your doctor about this. I also agree with Kitt. The healthier you keep your body the better. Eat well, get proper sleep and exercise...sound body, sound mind and all that. This is a great place for suport and info!
