confused  I start my new bid job tomorrow (Saturday), and hopefully I will be able to handle it.  In the beginning of it I have to set up the scanning area, so it's getting the area cleaned out and free of stuff that was staged there and shouldn't be, and then finding all the mail containers.  I'm supposed to have someone helping me to do this, otherwise I'm just going by the little bit of memory I have of the area when I go there to scan sometimes.  Please pray for me that I will be able to do this job and have help doing it.

Are you ok hun? Remember we are with you all the way on this new job and my prayers are with you as you get ready for the new job. 

I hope they have someone assigned to help you and I feel they would be negligent in not having someone help you get all set up.  If you have no help, please be assertive and talk to your supervisor as it sounds like a big responsibility to go  without a second person to begin with.  Your boss is there to help you learn the new position and prepare the area.

I believe self help books are great but sometimes it is fun to read just for the pleasure and to relax.  I love to lose myself in a great love story or mystery.

Oh, don't worry---if I don't have any help or guidance in setting up the scanning area, I definitely will hunt down a supervisor and let them know forthwith that I need a mailhandler to clean out the area and someone to help me set up the area. You see, working for the Postal Service is nothing like people think---they will leave you hanging and not think a thing about it. It's a government entity that is in desperate need of rebuilding from the foundation up. Great pay, but boy do you earn every cent.

Thanks so much, Scaredy Cat! I think a lot of people who see other people doing courageous things probably think,"Heck, they're not scared of ANYTHING." But deep down inside the person involved in the act, I'll know they're going, "What the heck am I DOING?!" I am reading Joyce Meyer's book "Battlefield of the Mind" and getting a lot from it. I am also going to do Bible study and let God's love surround me like a warm, soft blanket. I will need a lot of courage via the Lord tomorrow.

Just wanted to add, I feel really bad about letting my coworkers down by not being there. I WANT to be there, doing my job. Hopefully with this new job, I can, and also become financially stable again. God's will be done.

Well, it's 3:58 AM and I've been home from work since 3:00 AM. The day went well; a mailhandler cleared out all the pallets of magazines and mail equipment full of trays, sleeves, you name it, it was in there. I then found plenty of mail containers to set up the scanning area. The whole process took about 4 hours, but it got done. Then I went to Manual Letters and sorted states mail until 11:30 PM, when it was time to start scanning the many sacks and parcels of mail. I scanned until about 1:00 AM and then went back to my 'old haunt'---the Priority Mail sacks area, and labeled and hung sacks until 2:30 AM. Time to go home. My legs are tired, but otherwise physically I am ok. Mentally I'm on an uptick because the day went well, and I thank the Lord for it. Today is a carbon-copy of yesterday, and I know what I have to do now so it's not such a 'mystery' about the scanning area. Thank you all for your prayers and continued support, you guys are the tops. Talk to you later,

I am so happy to read of your success on the first shift of the new position.  Your job sounds very interesting but I guess I am beyond doing 12 hour shifts.   smhair

I am thankful that your peers stepped up to help you and that you did not have to spend the shift in anxiety over any problems.  I believe your prayers were answered and I know that from here on out you will continue to do well.  We all have the ups and downs but I will keep you in my prayers for more ups  then downs.

It can be an interesting job in the beginning, but it gets kinda boring. Good pay, a little boring. But thank God I can do this job! I work 6PM to 2:30AM, so it's an eight hour shift. Yes, I had a mailhandler clear out the area and I was able to find all the containers I needed. I still feel a bit tense going to work, but I take one task at a time and just chill out. There's an employee that oversees the scanning operation and she has made out a permanent diagram of setting up the scanning area, so there isn't so much confusion over what mail goes where. Yes, there will be ups and downs but I have the Lord every step of the way, and you guys praying for me. I love you and may peace and joy be with you today. Thanks for being proud of me too!

Well, I wish I could be as proud of myself as you are; I missed half a day of work yesterday because I had a bad panic attack. I had to go back up to 3 x day on the clonazepam, I think that was the cause---I needed more in my system than just two a day. I'll have to contact my Pdoc and let them know so they can modify my prescription again. The good thing about yesterday is that they don't scan on Sunday, so I would have been in Manual Letters all night anyway and not have to set up the area. Nobody told me*. But I did get 4 1/2 hours in, so the day wasn't a total waste. My husband would have had a fit if I had told him I had to turn around and drive all the way back home because of another panic attack, so I won't tell him. Today I work Manual Letters and then scan at the end of the day. Not very stressful, so that's good. Like Kitt said, there would be ups and downs, so this was a down that I turned into an 'up'. I'm headed to bed now, took my nighttime meds and they should be kicking in soon. Please continue to pray for me that I will be able to work this job and KEEP working it. Also, I may not have enough money for rent, so pray for me about that too. Love you and hope you have a great Monday free of pain, and may God bless you mightily.

Camy- I name you personally in my nightly prayers- you'll be taken care of- you can defeat this! BELIEVE. Can you try something for me? Next time you feel like you want to leave work because of panic can you go to the ladies room, close the door and take some deep breaths telling yourself this will pass- it always passes- I am OK. Do you have xannax? Would you be able to take just a half when you feel an attack coming on?

I wish you all the best-panic is a lousy awful feeling.

wearyRAsuffer, I know that the Lord is with me and that He will take care of me, and in His Name I will defeat this torment. Next time I have a panic attack I will head to the restroom, take some deep breaths and let myself calm down. I am currently on clonazepam (Klonopin) 3 x day and hydroxyzene 3 x day as needed for panic attacks. Today I had to call in to work, I was just too jittery to drive. If I get to feeling better, I will go to work. I hate letting everyone down because I'm not there.
Please keep praying for me and I know the Lord will help me and bless you in the process.

Camylou, I'm so sorry that you are suffering the p/a's. I have been in the cycle-it is torture. I will keep you in prayer too. I encourage you to practice progressive muscle relaxation and breathing exercises. Even on the good days-practice-that way it is easier to put them to use when the symptoms first hit. (the trick that worked for me was to stop them before they could really get momentum and thow me into full panic) I hope the next few days are better ones for you.

I went to work last night after taking a hydroxyzene and I had a sense of well-being that took over. But I know your prayers were with me too, so I have to give praise to the Lord that He got me through the night. And boy, did they need help up there. Not enough Manual Letters clerks and too much mail (they are goofing badly on the jobs; should have created three other Manual Letters jobs). So goes the Postal Service.
I did well and stayed busy all the way until time to leave. I am off today and Wednesday and will enjoy it, and then look forward to starting another workweek Thursday thru Monday. I think I will be able to do this job; it is not nearly as physically stressful as my other job was in Priority. WearyRAsufferer, my prayers are with you that you have less pain every day until you don't suffer any more. Thank you so very much for your prayers and support, I love you and have a nice day.
